Cover Zero???

Post by say_oww »

Seriously, the game plan to stop a strong-armed quarterback who makes bad decisions and is confused by defenses was to play cover 0 and cover 1 all day long. I bet New England won't make that mistake.

Seriously when it goes to overtime and the coaching staff put nine in the box and the only way you can lose the game is by a touchdown. What were they thinking

the coverage isn't what bothered me as much as where Ike Taylor lined up on that last play. You are playying to jam at the line and he wasn't even outside shoulder(which would be wrong too) but 3 yds outside the reciever, WTF? If a high school JV kid pulls that once, he's trying new positions on Tuesday. Taylor was either paid off. or he's "slobber on yourself stupid" there is no in between!

I don't think it was so much Taylor's fault as it was Mundy. Mundy was out of position on the last play, as he crashed the line. My point is I just don't get how you can get burned like that four times, yet still continue to do the same thing. Rather than be arrogant and run the same d without four starters in the lineup, maybe just go to a more conventional d that would have forced Tebow to make some reads. That's what he is weak at. He can obviously throw and run. He hasn't show he can read zones.

Both were bad. But Taylor is supposed to be their best cover guy. And lining up is a "Second nature" type thing that high school and college guys do thousands of times in a row with out screwing up .
