Re: CRidge
Is Everett still in the ICC? Why is Ridge not in the ICC still?
Re: CRidge
I'd take Ridge over Ligonier 9 years out of 10.

Re: CRidge
why were they kicked out? As far as the Laurel Highlands, I was told it was because of basketball, they didnt want to play the LH in basketball.

Re: CRidge
Ridge was never kicked out of anything. I have posted on this subject at least 5 times over the past 5 years. It seems to be "Chestnut Ridge folklore" that they got kicked out. I guess they just don't want to believe their AD, He was there and knows exactly what happened. Cliffnotes version: the MAC and ICC had dovetailed schedules with some dual membership. MAC decides they aren't doing that any more and forces dual membership schools to decide....end result is realignment. All single-A's (at that time) stay in ICC [Bellwood]and all AA's[Penns Valley, Central, BG] go to MAC. The way the numbers fall, and the fact that a last ditch effort for an odd-team schedule that would keep CR as the only AA in the ICC presented by NBC and also backed by Everett, failed. CR did not have ICC D6 member schools support across the board and joined the MAC but ended up pulling out before even playing a game.

Re: CRidge
I think with the new enrollments for 12-13 there will be three AA in the ICC,
everett, southern huntingdon, and mount union.
Ridge did not turn down the LHAC, have been close this year and two years ago but Ligonier didn't want to go with CR. LHAC needed two to expand.
Ridge was in the LHAC for awhile as football ONLY members about 10 years ago as was Bedford. LHAC went to an exclusive all sports conference and Bedford chose to go and Ridge did not. Ridge was offered a spot in the ICC and took it as the other sports never played a LHAC schedule so going BACK to the ICC was the path the majority supported. Ridge historically had been part of the ICC since the late 50's.
Not sure about "dual" membership in MAC/ICC. What happened and what alot forget is that when ridge came BACK to the ICC Votech came with them. Votech folded soon thereafter. BG went to the LHAC, PV went all MAC and that left BA and CR. From the CR perspective we were members of the ICC and in the ensuing shakeout we were the odd team out, unlucky 13.
Not pointing any fingers at anyone particular school but from a Ridge perspective that is what happened no matter what bs is written on here.

Thanks Southpaw on the details and as it supports my understanding on MAC & LHAC plus the statement on CR not wanting to play basketball in the LHAC is untrue since LHAC is an all sports conference.

Re: CRidge
If they wouldnt have jumped around the Easter Bunny and done what was convenient for them at the time, they might not have to travel to play De La Salle in California. They made their bed so now they have to sleep in it. I dont feel sorry for them one bit.
