For those who access the Altoona Mirror, the article today mentioned the transfer-outs. The Kepharts, Smith, Barzdo. It mentioned Barzdo's stepfather as having been an assistant of Craig's since 2005. It also stated that Barzdo left because the family couldn't meet stricter financial guidelines recently imposed. What's up with this? Does BC operate under different guidelines than BM? I thought any underprivileged kid that couldn't afford to go to BM got "financial aid" in the form of "sponsorships", and the LIFT program. Barzdo's stepdad only works sporadically, therefore I should think the family qualified for assistance. Something doesn't smell right. The article stated the Kepharts left because of "differences" with the administration. Wasn't that the vague reason they left Portage in the first place? Smith is now at Johnstown Christian School in Mundy's Corner. I urge you to read the article and form your own opinions as to what's going on on the Hill.

Did not know about the article, but I heard from family that goes to BC that the school was open to when you pay your bills like after tax returns or whenever during the school year. Now with the board it has to be paid by a certain date.

Read the article and what it comes down to and this the problem, BC was always run a certain way some teachers and coaches had leeway with what they did, hours they put in and how they ran things. When the board of trustees came in that all ended it went from a friendly half athletic half academic school to a all academic non friendly business. Thats the TRUTH its just upsetting it went down like this. Craig will move on but I feel bad for his parents who have been there for it seems like over 30yrs. BC is done, there was no problems 20 to 10 yrs ago why change.

Again, why is the system, rules for BC any different than for BG or BM? Isn't everything equal under the diocese? Please. Someone shed a little more light on this. It just seems so wrong.

Someone can correct me on this but I believe the 3 Bishops are not run by the diocese anymore. They are run each independently as a private business.

Then why does financial aid come from the Diocese, and not each school separately.
