District Seedings D-5
Re: District Seedings D-5
I wouldn't say that he wrestled tougher competition that Ryan? Just because he was a weight-class 'up' does not necessarily mean it was tougher kids every match. Bedford bumped Ryan around too, and he wrestled a few matches at a heavier weight. Easter has a state medal and wins over highly ranked kids/placewinners this season--crouse has not done anything (yet) on the state platform. That in-and-of itself is reason to seed him higher.

Re: District Seedings D-5
A debatable point, just my opinion. Easter does have a state medal but that was last year. Crouse has beaten him twice, if the points are close enough there can be a challenge and Crouse will be seeded ahead of Easter based on head to head wins this year.
With nolf at 113 that weight will be super tough at reg.

Re: District Seedings D-5
Wrassler fan if I wronged you in another life I apologize.
crfball - As far as Crouse being hot and overlooking Replogle's head to head win, that sure wouldn't follow D5 prescribed seeding procedures.
southpaw - I'm not buying the competition argument at all. D5 uses competition points, I tried to list them all below, but there could be an opponent from King of the Mountain, Chambersburg Duals, Boiling Springs, or perhaps Richland Duals that I missed.
Easter competition point wins:
Deitz NWAAA#4 (16)
Dupas D6 #1 (13)
Charlton D5 #3 (11)
Byers PA #2 (24)
Mcguire PA #8 (20)
and competition point losses to:
Sheesley NE AA #3 (4)
Byers PA #2 (5)
With 2 losses not impacting caliber of opponent calculation
Crouse x2
Easter total 93
Wheras Crouse has competition point wins over:
Swarrow (20)
Easter x 2 (21 x 2 = 42)
and competition point losses to:
Roberts PA #1 (5)
Farley PA #8 (4)
and losses not impacting caliber of opponent calculation
Brett
Tucker x2
Steinheimer ??
Law
Miller
Replogle
Jano
Crouse total 71
Additionally throw in the winning % factor Easter 29/33 x 60 = 53, Crouse 23/33 x 60 = 42
So Easter 93 + 53 = 146, Crouse 71 + 42 = 113, need to be within 5 to use a head to head results
Also for total points Easter gains 55 points for last year 5th @ PA, 201 vs. 113, need to be within 15 to use head to head results.
So unless D5 just throws away their procedures, Easter will be the top seed. Plus I'd guess that Replogle has enough points for head to head to factor in with Crouse, but I'm not sure, though as stated before the 2 vs. 3 seed difference shouldn't matter.

maybe they should seed him 4th
Re: District Seedings D-5
Great Job Odoyel.
Easter Should be the number 1, regardless imo. But thats why D5 has Seeding Criteria. Its great for Easter that Bedford went to Team duals and he got some quality wins. If Easter doesn't beat Byers, he would have 74 points which would have been within the requirements to challenge for Head to Head from Crouse.

Re: District Seedings D-5
I agree with odoyl, that no way easter isn't ranked #1 at districts and replogle at #2. Crouse will be #3. crouse just will have to win districts and he will be seeded higher at regionals over both. And then next year he will have the upper hand if he continues to wrestle like he has. Crouse is going to have to get by replogle 1st to get another shot at easter because ryan will be in the championship match at districts barring any injuries or upsets which I don't see happening. This is a chance for crouse to prove his worth though at districts. He will have a tougher time getting to the championship though with replogle in his way before he gets easter. We will see if easter figured out a way to beat crouse though soon enough if he gets by replogle. last year easter barely held on to beat replogle in the championship himself. He seemed to run out of gas and replogle then ran out of time before stalls set in! I think it was like 4-3 easter last year. It was only 1 point I believe!

Re: District Seedings D-5
CR wiz - agree, if Dull could have just held on against Evans then Crouse's head to head win would allow him to be seeded ahead of Easter.
Looking at little more @ Replogle, I'm not sure that he'll be within range of Crouse to use his head to head win for seeding slot either:
Competition point wins:
Miller [JM] D7 #4 (10)
Mostoller D5 #3 (11)
Competition point losses to:
Nolf PA#1 (5)
Noncompetition point losses:
Wilson
Miller [JM] x 2
Thomas
Evans
So 26 points + 21/27*60 = 46 + 20 points D5 runnerup = 92 for his total points vs. 113 for Crouse. 15 points is the cutoff, so if my calcs are right Crouse would get the #2 seed.
1 other note, Bedford wrestles Latrobe tonight, Easter should win easily. NBC wrestles HFH, which features Logsdon @ 126. IF Replogle were to win that he'd earn 10 points for defeating D5 #4. & HFH might want that matchup for Logsdon's sake to potentially get 12 points if he could beat D5 #2. While CR/Crouse's regular season is over.

I don't think that you'll see Replogle up at 126. He would be giving up 13 pounds.

Re: District Seedings D-5
It really doesnt matter 2,3,4? seat Crouse has the ability to beat everyone in that class, And I bet each kid will have that in the back of their head. The best kid will win!
Cant wait to see how it unfolds!
good luck to all!
