Personally, I'd take a gambler over a drug user any day. For example, Daryl Strawberry. How many times has this guy been dried out, only to get sucked right back in. Sports Illustrated said that he has turned to religion now. I'm not knocking the guy or religion, and I hope he's happy and finally getting himself together but....do you think he'll be in the Hall of Fame? Most likely.

Thank you old school! You are exactly right, the over sensitivity for what people say to others is bullsh!t! Who cares who says what about who, its free speech and if you don't like it, tough, love it or leave it!

If He Says He is sorry about betting on baseball thats fine but lying about it for 14 yrs is just dowright non laugable its downright sickening :mad:
and it makes me wanna puke. but since he admitted that he betted on baseball there is a small sliver of a chance that he might get in within the next 5 years or so

i really dont see what the big deal is, joe shmoe down the street bets on every single pro game, in all 4 major sports, and he doesnt get as much as a slap on the wrist...betting and gambling is a major part of American life, just go to vegas sometime if u dont believe me! i think its funny how people like daryl strawberry can get busted how many times for drugs and can still play and be in the hall or whatever, but pete admits that he gambled and he gets banned from the sport and the hall.

Pete Rose deserves to be in the Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a PLAYER. All time hits leader should be there. He should not be allowed in the hall as COACH. He bet on his games so dont induct him as a coach. If he bet on games while he was playing then he should not be in the HOF, and he didnt gamble as a player so why is he not in the Hall?
