James McDonald kept Matt Cain from throwing a perfect game today, this offense needs a lot of help.

It blows my mind that the Pirates still have fans following them with passion. I checked out over 7 years ago, maybe more. I will be called a bandwagon fan by anyone who wants to if they start winning again, but i will never go into a year expecting anything less than what is happening and what will continue to happen. The team has not had offensive prospects in their system in years sans Mccutchen. The ones that they do have hope for don't pan out...see Alvarez, Pedro. LAst year gave fans false hope, but i don't think they are anywhere close. All the talk will be about the young pitchers coming up through the system just as it was when Kris Benson, Van Benscoten, u name it by June. The Pirates really have some true fans of baseball.

maybe they should have signed Zambrano...he hits better than most of the Bucs lineup these days...haha.

Don't overreact because the Bucs have faced some of the best pitchers in baseball to start the season. They should still win between 75-80 games. MLB didn't do them any favors by sending them out west right after their opening home series. They have six losses, but I think five of those six were by one run. They do still have a long way to go before they're competing for a playoff spot for a whole year, though.

I agree Deliverance....they have been in all the games but one or two...it’s not like the are getting beat by ten runs each game
I have been a Buco fan for over 40 years and I will keep supporting this team. I know we haven't played ten games this season but I think they need to start looking for a new hitting coach. It’s pretty bad when the Pens have scored more in the playoffs than the Pirates this season.

After last night it's official, I'd much rather have Cedeno than Barmes at short, not to keen on Barajas either. I'm starting to wonder if they'll even win a game on this west coast swing, this season might be over before it even begins.

They won today behind great starting pitching and some small ball!! I wouldn't jump off the bandwagon just yet. I think once they get home from the West Coast and start playing teams in their division they will be competitive. We'll see.
