Is it happening at Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan? Nope.

I think it is the perfect storm for the attendance drop.

Fans were beginning to sour on how the team played for years and how it was coached. Big games always led to big disappointments.

During this time, people begin to lose jobs, gas prices rise, etc. Even with those two scenarios above, fans still come.

Then, the STEP program is put in place where people have to donate anywhere from 400 to 2000 per seat per year. I remember the day it was put in place listening to sports radio in State College and the complaints were terrible. Many people calling saying they wouldn't renew.

The Scandal hits, Paterno gets fired which angers many fans. Paterno dies. Penn State loses Paterno fans.

Overall, a lot has led to where we stand today. What brings fans back is winning. O'Brien might be able to do that. Eventually fans will come back.

Oh the irony of explaining attendance issues to Pitt fans

On the Caravan ride today from State College to Hazelton, Coquese was little timid. But she let loose on the way to Bethlehem.

There is no doubt that riding a bus all day can be a bit boring. Of course, once in a while during the caravan, Coach O'Brien takes the wheel in order to livin things up a bit.

Alot of people work 3-11 and don't get home til 11:30 or so. And what do YOU do? Wake up and jump on the computer at 7AM?? Think you might have missed something overnite?

And some people rip off their employers work-time to do stuff on the internet. Not guilty here!

I see O'Brien's first stop on the Caravan this week is in Altoona tomorrow for breakfast, and then to Pittsburgh at 6PM. NO Johnstown????? Of course, why stop there? PSU already has WJAC-TV, Matt Maisel, and the Tribune-Democrat in their hip-pocket. No need to advertise there.
