Let's get to know Cooper!!

Everyone dreams of being a lineman right?
There is no fame or glory that comes from being a lineman. It comes from your heart showing that without you the points on the board would not exist.

Last year you guys had a great season and pulled out close games against Beth Center and Springdale? Do you have any memories of either of those games you want to share?
During the Beth Center game, we were unprepared for the conditions that made the game not only fun but more challenging. When it came down to overtime, the game turned into something that we wanted more than they did. We, as a family and team, will remember this game for many years to come.

Out of all the teams in your conference, who would be your top choice other than Avonworth to make some noise?
Besides our team, we would choose Northgate. They are an up and coming team that has the will and drive to not stop their progress into becoming a great team.

What is your favorite pregame tradition?
On our wall before we go out to any game, we "touch up". By touching up, we mean as a team we tap the words "Be a Champion" on the wall of the field house. "Be a Champion" means to our team: give 110% and leave everything on the field. Being a champion applies to our everyday lives in multiple ways: on the field, in school, at home, and in the community, as our coach teaches us.

Last year, you ended the season with a loss to Rochester, how did your team respond to that loss in the offseason?
It was the fuel to our fire. We used it to motivate everyone in the offseason to push themselves past their limits, both mentally and physically.

Who has the best uniforms in the WPIAL?
Fox Chapel's Black Jerseys

What is your favorite place to play?
Home, because the support of the fans is at a maximum. At home we can carry out more of our traditions.

Tell us about some hobbies you have outside of football.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

When you were younger, were their any Avonworth players that you really enjoyed watching?
Khiry Watts, he was a fantastic athlete. His skill was unmatched in any sport he played. He also was a model person in society. He was a solid person look up to and an even better friend.

What is your favorite place to eat and what would you get there?
Wing Night; it's all you can eat, and you're with the team. What more could you need?

Who is your favorite professional athlete?
Jeff Hartings. This is because I have gotten to know him as a person and not just as an athlete.

What is the best thing about playing high school football?
The friendships that are built are unmatched, the work ethic you gain is positive, and the leadership is unbeaten. Plus you get to take your aggression out in a positive atmosphere.
