Q&A with Northern Bedford's Tayler Pressel

Post by Coach »

Who: Tayler Pressel
Team: Northern Bedford Panthers
Why: Tayler is a 2 year letter winner and a returning honorable mention All-State tight end. Pressel was also the Northern Bedford defensive MVP last year as a middle linebacker. The Panthers are 19-4 in the last two seasons combined, so Pressel and the rest of his senior class are hoping to build on that record over the past two years.

We don't see as many 3 sport athletes as we used to. What drives you to do all 3?
I like playing 3 sports because I like certain things about each sport and it also keeps me in shape year round.

Do you have any pregame rituals?
My pregame ritual includes trying to play the game in my head and going through plays.

What motivates you to be successful in sports?
My motivation is my dad because he always says how much potential I have to play any sport at the next level if I work hard enough.

You have a twin brother, Zach, who has medaled twice as a high jumper in track, so you are quite an athletic tandem. What is it like participating in sports side by side with a twin brother?
When you sports with your brother you always know what he is thinking and feeling. On the basketball court I always know when he is going to drive to hoop we just always seem to know what the other one is going to do.

What regular season game are you most looking forward to in 2012? Why?
The game that I am looking forward to the most is when we play Tussey Mountain because it is a big rivalry game and the stadium is always packed.

Describe your offseason workouts.
My offseason includes lifting weights, running, bleachers, and 110 yd sprints.

What has been the best sports memory so far in your career?
My best sports memory is when we played Tussey Mountain in 2010 and just absolutely dominated the whole game.

What former player has had the biggest impact on you as a football player?
The player that has had the biggest impact on me would be Joel Suter because really took control of the defense and it seemed like he made every tackle.

What is something most people don't know about you?
People might not know that I love to hunt.

Name one player that isn't on your team (from another school) but you wish he was. Why?
I am perfectly happy with the teammates I have and I wouldn't want to play the game of football with anyone else.
