Week 1 Scrimmages

I agree Jack Daniel. I forget the year but Windber even gave the Bears some problems. Took the Bears about a half before finally taking over the game. Windber is definitely a scrappy bunch. Best of luck to that program.

Looking for information on the West Pac teams scrimmages. I see Windber held there own with Tyrone and have heard from someone that attended the Ferndale scrimmage that they may be in for a long year but, that was just his opinion. Any news on some of the other schools?

Portage traveled to Saxton on Saturday morning to take on Tussey Mountain. I didn't really post any info on it because for the most part the Mustangs team was depleted and not much of the one that's gonna be taking the field on Friday Nights. All of the Junior's were away for the weekend at a confirmation retreat. Also they sat out a few starters nursing some injuries, and another has yet to return from army boot camp for the summer. That all being said the score was 2 - 2(two TD's a piece). They take on Homer Center this friday night and should be almost back at full strength I'd imagine so hopefully I learn more about this 2012 squad then.

Conemaugh Township had their way with United on Saturday. Lot's of speed for Township and no outside containment for the Lions. New defensive scheme is being installed we'll see how it looks this Friday at Claysburg
