How I would've aligned Class A

Out of state games are few and far between because the WPIAL offers 0 flexibility for those games to happen. You ever see a Cocoa Florida schedule; they play 3-4 games out of state on an average year. This weekend alone there was at least 5 out of state games on TV and a plethora more that wasn't on TV.

AAAA teams were playing 3 and 4 non-conf games a season until this past season. There were plenty of opportunities to play out-of-state competition.

Of course, with shrinking athletic budgets, do you really think that it's the best thing for WPIAL teams to be travelling all over the country to play games, when there are quality teams in their own back yards?

Speaking of TJ and Cocoa, Cocoa is of smaller enrollment and destroyed TJ. So decline of population has little to do w/ WPA's decline. There are small schools across the nation like 3A Alcoa(TN), which would be 2A in PA, beating schools 2-3 times its size. Should those schools move up in enrollment too?

Again, you were the one complaining that Clairton needed to play 2 specific AA teams. Do you really think that anyone in Aliquippa or Jeannette cares about playing Clairton?

Clairton/Rochy is going to draw a good crowd regardless of the venue and is usually a neutral site game anyways. Outside of Heinz Clairton and Rochy has played at Peters Township and West Allegheny. Its developing into a fine playoff rivalry and good replacements for Monaca and Duquense.

Again, that's not the point. The point was that you were perfectly fine with the 2 best teams playing in some random first round game because your realignment wasn't conducive to seeding the WPIAL playoffs. And what if Clairton somehow gets upset in a conference game? They could be the best team in the WPIAL, yet not make the playoffs because they lost one conference game.

No one would consider an 8 conference alignment to be a good idea in any other classification, so why is it a good idea in Single A?
