Re: Reggie's Back
Coach Nevins will do a fine job leading the Central team.
One can only wonder how the other final applicant would have done over the long haul for the Central program...Randy Meck.
As one of the finest young coaches in D5 or D6 and one of the most successful coaches in D5 or D6 as finalists, Central was fortunate to be in a position to "court" both applicants. Reggie brings fire to the sidelines. Meck brings tremendous energy to all levels of "his programs."
One of Coach Nevins biggest opportunities is go get Bradi Moore to come out for winter hoops. Tremendous athlete who likes to play....at least on the offensive end...

Re: Reggie's Back
May have, but he belongs on a basketball court..
6' 3"....long build; very quick.
Spent a good bit of time this summer playing pickup ball and I think played with some of the Central hoops team in a summer league. Will not be a game changer but would certainly help with his athleticism.

I don't think he had alot of success on the mat. Basketball would probably be best. Is he a baseball player or is he in track?

Baseball...
Solid CF.
Runs balls down in gaps and hits fairly well. Does not play in summer to my knowledge.

Re: Reggie's Back
Missed out on a chance to hire one of the best young coaches in region that would have improved our program from elementary up. Backroom politics and arm bending. Same old story in the cove. Then we wonder why nobody usually applies for open positions.

Re: Reggie's Back
Sad but true...CHSincove.
The good old boys prevailed again.
Coach Nevins will be a huge upgrade for the program and its previous leadership, but looking down the road; not just 2 or 3 years, but 8 to 10 years and beyond, Coach Meck would/should have been the obvious choice.
Still looking forward to seeing Reggie roam the sidelines again. He is colorful to say the least and his teams will always, always play hard.
Old school style, right?
We will see.

Re: Reggie's Back
Nevins can flat out coach. He was and will be a winner. His teams not only did well in Mountain League and 6AAA/AA play, but played well in PIAAs most years.
