I keep hearing all this hoopla about this Medva kid and I am definately not taking anything away from him because I have seen him play in the past, but because you put up 300 and some yards against Ferndale does not make you the areas best, Berlin's Glotfelty has developed tremendously in the last 2 years and his talent level has raised. During the Conemaugh Township game he played one series in the 3rd quarter and sat out the rest of the game. The Ferndale game the same. The Conemaugh Valley game he played very minimal in the 2nd half. So in reality he sat out a full game just to give the younger guys some playing time, mostly by his choice. His yardage total definately doesn't show his talent because of his all around position playing. They keep saying Berlin is a "one man show", I agree with that if you are going by stats, BUT, the WHOLE team is the reason they are winning. Blake Miller, Levi Bowser, The Fochtman Brothers, both of which are going to be rising talent in the future, Nick Stockwell, Collin Stoltzfus, who is an amazing defensive threat. All these guys deserve credit for their success thus far. I am definately picking Berlin to win this matchup if they play the way they are capable of playing, but I am not counting North Star to lay down lightly, they will be there at the end. I say Berlin 28-21. Good Luck to both teams! Also I wanna say congrats to Matt Grohal and the success he is having at Windber. My family and I have known Matt for many many years and he is a deserving guy for his success.

I think the westpac can't call berlin this godly team anymore. I don't think they can beat any team from the Heritage and definitely don't think this is their year as D5 champions. For all the people who wanted to see another top heritage team in ended with a blow out of winber. Be interesting where the season series goes now.

After five weeks the WestPac has beaten the three Heritage Schools that will only win games played against each other and lost to the two five hundred pound gorillas of the Heritage (Liggy & PM) week six thur nine will be a better test of each conference. Week ten sees PL & Saltsburg in action vs the WestPac again so don't read too much into those games.

I think that the shade panthers looked pretty good last night. It was a bit of a slow first half but they really got things together in the second half. A lot of turnovers for the bluejays but I give props to the panthers for shutting them out on their homecoming night. They're only one win away from making playoffs, something a shade team hasn't seen in a while.

No denying that LV is a very good team. They were well coached, disciplined and have tons of talent. As far as them beating Windber, I'm not sure yet what to think as far as the Heritage vs. Westpac debate. It's completely possible that Windber is the fourth best team in Westpac. I think many even predicted they would be before the season started and that might very well be the case. We haven't played Berlin, North Star or Portage. If we would lose to all three (which is quite possible) then this past week had the best of the Heritage (Ligonier Valley) beating a middle of the road WestPac team (Windber).

I know some could argue that LV ain't the best in the Heritage...that Penns Manor is. I highly doubt that after seeing LV. The only thing I'm going on (as ignorant as it may sound) is Northern Cambria beating Penns Manor in week one. The same Northern Cambria team that pretty much played Windber evenly in their scrimmage game. Actually...I thought Windber was probably better. Having said all that, I don't think any team in WestPac could beat LV but that should probably be the case considering we are all single A clubs. Also, I hope you were just kidding when you said Berling couldn't beat ANY team in heritage. That's just not true considering even Rockwood could beat a Heritage conference team and did.
