What keeps a team on top?
Re: What keeps a team on top?
I think that without a doubt that success breeds success.......if the kids are taught 'how' to win, then they will understand the sacrfice and work it takes to get there. When I stand near the sidelines of our home team this season with the score 52-0, I heard more about the players plans for the after-game party---rather than how to put a couple points on the scoreboard.
I hate to say it, but alot of these kids are growing up in the AYSO philosphy of everyone plays, everyone wins, and no score is kept---then when it becomes the time to actually compete in high school, they are lost.
I'm sorry, but this is why wrestling is king for making young boys into men---1-on-1 and no excuses if you lose. If you outwork your opponent, you usually win.

Well said, and there you have it...animus wrote:Mannnn... If people spent this much time making sure their kids are at practice on time, studying the playbook, in the weight room in December etc as they do complaining about schools dominating or recruiting then just maybe their school would be the one everyone is chasing.
