My football program from September 1 lists no 8th graders on the Ferndale varsity team.

According to their roster on maxpreps they also have no seniors. I think that they just forgot to change the grades of the kids from last year and that all the kids are actually one year older than what is listed.

So we are now in the era of post-truth bleacher coaches. I love it! We aren't sure that there are eighth graders on the roster, but everyone was in eighth grade at one time or another.

In competitive high school football, ninth graders are NEVER even be on a high school roster save the one in ten million kid like a Fralic.

It is disheartening to see the depths to which high school football has sunk in these parts as school districts continue to shrink and the teachers union continues to resist consolidation.

Can't dispute declining enrollments, but a more accurate statement would be that parents and school boards oppose consolidation.
