Very impressive, for a school that would have had trouble beating IUP in those days. Let's not get into the whole St. Francis thing. Up until this year, they were 1AA because of their basketball program. No other reason. Now, their conference officially can participate in the FCS playoffs. When Scott played, they couldn't. They weren't even considered playoff material. True 1AA schools like Delaware, Youngstown State, William and Mary, James Madison, Montana, Appalachian State play great football. Why shouldn't kids who start for these schools be considered on par with alot of kids who play D1. Believe me, what Justin Oravetz (from Westmont) did at Richmond was more significant that what Jim Kanuch did at PSU. One played 1AA, one IA. Let's not leave out FCS kids.

How far you going back? Conemaugh Twp. had a few D1 players. Of course everyone knows of Jeff Hostetler and his brothers but some might not remember Scott Summits who went to WVU and was on the cover of sports illustrated playing in the 1989 Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame for the national championship. Very solid player and just happens to live accross the street from my parents. I know they also produced a rb that played for Wake Forrest in the 70's. Before that I think they had a couple who went to Michigan state but I could be wrong..
