Re: Where are they playing?
Being a D1 wrestler is about the same level of achievement as playing D3 baseball
Re: Where are they playing?
That is just plain rude. Wrestling is the toughest sport of them all and kids that excel to a D1 level had to spend their entire life fully committing to conditioning and practice. Just for the record none of my brood wrestled, they are basketball players.
Re: Where are they playing?
Gallaher is arguably the best basketballer -EVER- to come out of Forest Hills. Many folks are aware of his hoops talents, but maybe didn't know he was doing what he's doing. That is why the mention, say_oww. What's got your panties in a bunch?
It ain't over until it's over.

Haha are you kidding me? 103 seniors and 275 sophmores in our area aren't athletes. Wrestling teaches poor eating habits. Wrestlers coordination is horrid compared to basketball players. And I wish I got to play basketball against my own height and weight then maybe i would have got a scholarship. Only rednecks watch wrestling and they call it pumpkin pushing and jungle ball because they don't have the athletism to play.
Re: Where are they playing?
I don't like to be a tough guy over the internet but this post is bogus man. Statistics show that becoming a D1 wrestler is actually the hardest major sport to go D1 in. The chances of being a HS wrestler and going D1 is a 3.3%. The chances of being a D1 basketball player out of HS is 5.7% and chances of playing D1 baseball are 11.2%. therefore, being a D1 wreslter is quite an achievement...And don;t call me out on this because no, I'm not a wrestler, but quit talkin smack manOldskoolhoops wrote:Being a D1 wrestler is about the same level of achievement as playing D3 baseball

11.2% chance of going D1 in baseball? If that's the case then Bedford County should pump out 5-7 D1 players every year!

Yeah its 11% and I guess but you gotta figure there's probably schools in Florida, Cali, and, Texas that are sending out a handful of D1 players from one team.

Whoa fellows....Let's put the singlets, baseball bats, and helmets away for the moment. Hoping to add to my history of area athletes who are / have played college hoops is all I was asking. I recognize the accomplisments of all athletes from our D5 and D6 area as something that needs to be announced and posted. Let's keep to the original request and if you need or would like to post info about athletes in other sports please do so on the other forums. Thanks.
Let's shake hands, keep up your interest in our area sports and best of luck to those playing or performing at the college level, no matter what the sport.
Any one from North Star or Shade playing "hoops" at the next level?
