Northern is not very good. They have no true point. They are very athletic but they lack discipline and basketball awareness. If you know basketball the way it's supposed to be played NB does a pretty sloppy job. They have a high ceiling but I don't see them reaching full potential.

Both Ridge and Nb lost last night to teams they were expected to beat. I didnt attend the ridge game but was at northern bedfords. Both Zach Pressel and Blake Over fouled out at crucial points in the game after trying to block more shots after having some monster blocks early. Those are two of the panthers better shooters. They needed them in the game. Without them the only outside scoring threat they had was snyder. Congratulations to Eric Husick on his 1000 points. Thats always a big accomplishment. And to Mitchel and Runk. They were lights out combining for 9 threes. Great game to watch.

Hyndman beat Ridge on a 3 pointer at the buzzer 50-47, good back and forth battle. Really wouldn't say Ridge was expected to beat them. They split their games last year and this year.

I don't think anyone should be overly surprised that NB fell to TM. Dave Bailey is a tremendous coach, and he clearly understands the weakness NB has at PG.

A week before this game I had a few conversations with both NB and TM people. Everyone, Panther and Titan, agreed that NB would be outcoached and lose a game they should, on paper, handle well. Until NB fixes their coaching problem, the annual losses to Saxton will keep piling up.

It works the same way in football to the detriment of the Titans. The Panthers have a stronger system and are much better coached. As such, NB perennially beats up on their "rivals" from Saxton. No one in Saxton understands football like Batzel/Black and Company, and no one in the Cove understands basketball like Dave Bailey.

Hey, I have a great idea...consolidate the schools and have a strong tradition in both programs!

I really think Barry Crawford is a quality coach. Don't understand the ripping going on around here. NBC has alot of big men who are quality athletes, but lack quality guard play. You gotta have guards, especially point guards. Besides Tussey brought everything back from a very good team from last year.

I saw tussey play twice and they have good guards and 1 kid who is husky under the basket that can shoot pretty well. Not too much height though for them. If nbc had a couple guards to add to that team, they would be unstoppable. Great athletes though.

Oldguy, I woukd almost guarantee Barry Crawford's career win percentage vs Dave Bailey and the Titans is sub .200 and it's certainly sub .300. If NB is happy being a wrestling dominated school in the winter, then fine, they've built a great wrestling program in Loysburg and should be proud of it. But look at what two strong coaching staffs, with Batzel in football, and Marcus Yeatts in soccer, can do at a A school. The NB boys have had great success recently in both fall sports. It's years like this, when NB has a talented, athletic team in the court, that it's sad the coaching staff isn't stronger. Dave Bailey overachieves with down teams, while NB continues to underperform with one of the most talented teams in the district. That's a coaching problem.
