cant stress how important home court is for the playoffs. had they lost they would have dropped to 7th in the standings.sppawfan wrote:Nice win for ct girls over a tough portage team. Congrats to them.

Portage jumps out to a 14 point lead then just as Coach Hudak said in the paper "when you cross McNally Bridge you're in hostile territory" aka Somerset County. Portage's two best athletes/scorers, the big girl McCabe & the PG Chobany then predictably got in foul trouble and had to be sat and back came the Indians. CT ended up shooting I think 34 free throws and made 28 of them. I'll leave my comments at that.....Good Luck to Township the rest of the way.

Re: ct vs portage girls
Responding to what I'm reading between the lines: The officials for the game were from North of the McNally Bridge. One of them in fact from further north than Portage. Nice Try! The Twp. girls haven't been able to put it all together at times this season. They did, however, put it all together in the 2nd half last night. No disrespect intended to the Portage girls. They are still probably the best team in the North section of WestPAC. This may actually be a good thing for them as post season draws near.

Re: ct vs portage girls
Wasn't able to make the game last night. I've been to a number of the Portage girls' games this season and those kids play with heart. I was at the home game with CT and it was a classic so I thought this one would go either way. My question, what crew did the game? What you see in the paper as far as foul differental doesn't always tell the whole story. Anyone help me out?

People can say its the refs... Some call it tight and some let them play. Sometimes you hear of unruly fans. Usually their hearts are in the right place it is their mouths that may not be. Sounds like this was two good teams that let it all on the floor. The kids have to adapt to the environment and play the game. Ct lost at portage... Homered? Didnt hear that. Bad calls? Didnt hear that. Ct lost. Portage was the better team that night. Ct was the better team last night. Good luck to both the rest of the way. Two good teams that deserve good things in the post season.

Re: ct vs portage girls
totally disappointed in you.... your not one to blame refs.... please keep in mind your number 2 had many blocked shots that werent called as fouls. c.t. goes up to the hostile portage gym weeks back and loses by 4 and no complaints at all from the c.t. fans. and the 32 shots represent what 16 fouls? so 8 fouls each half. thats just horrible. we have been up to your place and been at 10 the first quarter. and your so called c.t. refs are from jtown, b.v. so dont even go there. but also keep in mind your girls fouled our girls like 7 times in the last min and a half trying to get back down by 5 and lets remember portage was in the bonus the first half first with c.t. having 7 fouls to your 5. why cant a win just ever be a win... good luck lady mustangs in the playoffs i know your gonna do well.GreenMachine wrote:Portage jumps out to a 14 point lead then just as Coach Hudak said in the paper "when you cross McNally Bridge you're in hostile territory" aka Somerset County.
