I have to correct my mistake to a previous post Redfoot is the ref who didnt do a bad game at claysburg during the icc championship it was reimer and laratonda who seemed to be calling the game one-sided. my apologies to redfoot. Got the two of you mixed up.

The problem with officiating is twofold first there is very little incentive to be a better official. If the conferences would take over hiring and scheduling officials then maybe we could work on this problem. If working LHAC games paid $20 more a game then there would some desire to work in that conference and would allow the conference to evaluate and hire only the best. Currently each school hires who they think are good and in a lot a cases they hire whoever they can get.

The second issue is official are evaluated by other officials. In most cases the guy doing the evaluating stunk as a ref and probably spent the last 20 years working with the guy he is evaluating. Having spoken to these evaluators in the past I can assure they give almost not credence to if the calls are correct or not. Their concerns are all about the officials being in the correct position, giving the correct signals, and managing the game.
