Pay up!
Surprised Moldo or Titan hasn't brought this up yet.

I've stayed out of the JoePa thing for the most part. But I do wonder why he wouldn't show this much determination when dealing with a child molester.

Re: Pay up!
That story is vintage Joe Paterno...DEPTH CHART JUSTICE at it's finest!
There is NO DOUBT that letter from JVP to the player for the $12.99 room service bill was for a walk on scrub buried deeply in the depth chart.
JVP threatened to call the scrub's parents if he didn't cough up the $13 owed to the university for room service. I wonder if he told JER that if he didn't shape up and stop horsing around in the showers with young boys that he would call Jer's mommy and daddy?
Conversely, MUCH HIGHER ON THE PSU "DEPTH CHART" than the lowly scrub who owed $12.99 to the football program was JERRY SANDUSKY, JVP's right hand man.
JVP and his underlings in their infinite wisdom, just let Jer slide. The ever-obvious quotes from Curley, "AFTER TALKING IT OVER WITH COACH...", Spanier "The HUMANE thing to do...", and Shultz "Opening PANDORA'S BOX??..." in 2001 spoke volumes. Maybe Jer's punishment was to clean the Lasch showers after he used them, just like he had felons cleaning the football stadium after games for their transgressions?
Not only was Jer allowed to slide, he was ENABLED, permitted to bring children around the program and along with the PSU football bowl entourages, using the brand name as the lure to rape children.
You think Paterno didn't have total authority over the travel list to bowls???? He did. Anyone knows the total control that JVP exercised over that university, let alone the football program. Yet despite JVP's control and power, Jer was allowed to tag along with his victims for years, after JVP knew about 1998 AND 2001, hang out in the Lasch showers, bring his victims to practices, take them to bowl games, let them stand on the sidelines during home games, etc.
At the very least, why couldn't JVP have said to Curley, Shultz, and Spanier, "Hey fellas, you do what you have to do with Jerry, but under no circumstances do I want him or his Second Mile kids around this football team in any way, shape, or form." It could have been that simple. It SHOULD have been that simple. That wouldn't have even taken much courage. Just keep Jer away. Plain and simple.
Does anyone here really believe that had JVP not said that in 1998, or at the very least 2001, that Jer would never have been around Lasch or the team or to bowl trips again? Why didn't Paterno simply order that??? Was it a coincidence that Paterno told McQueary he doesn't have a job for him when he called his house about Jer, then McQueary spills the beans on Jerry and suddenly there is a full-time coaching position available for McQueary.
I think the rest of the world outside of the cult knows why Paterno never ordered Jer away from the program and why Red was offered a job.
PSU cultists said it for decades themsleves: JVP knew EVERYTHING if it involved the program. He was as sharp as a tack. If a church mouse farted in Port Matilda and it somehow involved the football team, Joe knew about it before the church mouse had swallowed the sauerkraut that would eventually give him gas.
Yet, Joe never heard of man copulating with another man....
An Ivy league educated scholar and self-proclaimed Renaissance Man schooled in Greek and Roman tragedies who had a mind as sharp as a tack into his 80s and who knew everything that affected his football program and he's never heard of pedophilia. Imagine that.
It took an exceptionally courageous HS student and his mother reportiing the to school authorites, who then (apparently reluctantly) reported Jer to CYS.
Make no mistake about it...Had this not happened, JER would still be running wild all over PSU, and central PA scoping out victims, using PSU football as the enticement.
Again, let's be clear here: NOTHING THAT PSU DID RESULTED IN JER BEING STOPPED.
What JVP and his underlings did was pure evil, greed and selfishness, and self preveservation at its worst.

Re: Pay up!
This fascination with Joe is getting pathetic! Get a life! Attack the people who could have put end to this and it was part of their job. In 1998 CYS, 2nd Mile, DA, and others were involved and nothing happened. DPW allowed Jerry yo adopt kids. Do something constructive like writing letters to state government, politicians, and others that were involved. Sitting around and bashing someone who actually had the balls to admit he could have done more gets nothing accomplished and is pathetic. It's time people confront and demand answers from everyone with any involvement including Central Mountain, CYS, 2nd Mile, DA Office, DPW, adoption agencies, etc. oh wait, I forgot everyone thinks Joe was God and above all those people.

Along with 99% of the other broadcasters out there! So what if he changed his mind after taking the time to read both reports. The man has some integrity, he could at least admit he just to conclusions without making an informed decision.
Re: Pay up!
No, I'm pretty sure Brent Musburger wants to kiss AJ McCarron's girlfriend.
