"Western" Finals

Post by WPIAL~Titan »

Class A will likely be a boys/girls IUP doubleheader Tuesday...

Vincentian vs. BG Girls
Lincoln Park vs. Johnsonburg Boys

Class AAAA could be at the AAHS Fieldhouse as well

Chartiers Valley vs. Cumberland Valley Girls
New Castle vs. Lower Merion Boys

BTW, the Piaa went to all semis on Tuesday night to avoid those dreaded single games at Chambersburg HS where both teams bused close to 3 hours AND also played in front of 300 people. At least now the Piaa can create a few interesting doubleheaders and bring I more revenue while saving on separate site rentals.

I look for IUP and Altoona Area Fieldhouse to be used. Get there early, New Castle will bring a few thousand.

Just wondrin' if NeCa will trash the town, much like they did in Hershey in the 80's, I believe.

There are actually 2 doubleheaders one at Char Valley and one at William Tennent.

Yes there are, not sure how I missed that. A little surprised New Castle/Lower Merion is at Williamsport.

Only the WPIAL is dumber than the PIAA. 220 miles for New Castle and 170 miles for Lower Merion to a gym that holds a shade more than 2000. This should've been a doubleheader at AAHS, which holds 3000. There will never be enough seating at the Magic Dome. NC will sell out their allotment of tix in 15min. Wouldn't be surprised to see NeCaHi fans who don't get in riot the place.

There is also a doubleheader at the Geigle Complex at Reading High School.
