Holy crap, there's that fugly troll again.
Re: Success With Honor
Yet more propaganda meant to thump the collective chest of the Cultish "WE ARE..." crowd.
"LOOK AT US! WE ARE BETTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE!"
Isn't that the brand arrogance and attitude that got PSU in trouble in the first place?
People like Nets are the poster children for the continued existence of the football first culture which allowed Jer to use PSU as the bait so that he could feast on innocent minds, bodies, and souls for decades.
Clearlty the cult hasn't learned a thing and in fact is now WORSE THAN EVER, thumbing their noses at everyone and everything who dares to question their perfect football driven world. PS4RS, Franco, Lubrano, t-shirts with the Freeh Stooges and NCAA with sicles and hammers are further codification of the cult's sick rebellion against the rest of the world who knows far better.
Does trumpeting graduation rates (conveniently inflated by made-for-football majors) and money raised by the THON really trump the cesspool of corruption and coverup of child rapes orchestrated by Paterno and his underlings Spanier, Curley, and Shultz, for decades?
Outside of The Cult, the consensus is that it doesn't.
Civilized society believes outside of the brainwashed PSU football first bretheren the NCAA went way too easy on PSU football.
I tend to agree.
What do you not get, do you have trouble in reading and comprehension? PSU fans can be proud of THON, graduation rates, and other accomplishments. Like I have told you and anyone else on this board. Those involved in the Sandusky scandal are in prison, dead, or will be heard to court. A a fan I'm not proud that this happened at PSUand hope that every measure is taken to prevent this from happening ANYWHERE, ever again. As far as a cover-up, I'm not sure whether there was or there wasn't. I don't think there is enough evidence to prove either way, especially from Paterno. 1 little e-mail that mentions "coach," out a few million emails is definitely not enough evidence. Also what does it matter in his case, the guy is DEAD! His reputation has been drug through the mud and that is fine with me, people are entitled to their own opinions, but don't try to force that crap on me. If everyone thought like Titan and Moldy, this world would realy suck!!! Good thing neither of you guys are attorney's, because you would never win a case. Always posting crap with NO facts to back it up.
Re: Success With Honor
Hey Nets, ever hear of the phrase "Sins of the Fathers"? It's from the Bible. You remember what that is, don't you? It goes something like this: " The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by NO means clear the guilty, visiting iniquity of the fathers ON THE CHILDREN, to the 3rd and 4th generations". What does that mean? When a father misleads his family, the effects of that misleading ARE OFTEN FELT FOR GENERATIONS. For some reason, Nets 77 thinks that what Papa Joe Paterno did will be forgotten because he is dead. Really???? That somehow PSU is off the hook because those involved in the scandal are no longer at the university???? Much to his dismay, Nets is going to have to DEAL with the PSU scandal for years to come. The "children" of Papa Joe (those associated with Joe Paterno, the FATHER of Penn State's football program) are being punished for his actions. The innocent shall suffer because of what the Father did.
Re: Success With Honor
At this point there is nothing that will ever come out to:
A) Clear the perception of Joe in the general public
or
B) Cause the Joe supporters to admit that he was wrong and not wrongfully terminated.
So Franco, WPIAL, Lubrano, Paterno family, Zeigler, ect., can we all just move on?

Re: Success With Honor
Moldy, I never said it should all be forgotten. What I have been saying, and I've said it numerous times, is that it is time to move on and everyone needs to learn from what happened at PSU. There needs to be more trainings and conversation on recognizing signs of abuse, how to prevent it,how to report it, and how to help those affected by it. What does continuing to bash Paterno do? I have admitted that Paterno could have and should have done more, as he had admitted. Hindsight is 20/20. Because of what happened the company I work for has provided numerous trainings on recognizing abuse and we have NO contact with any children at all through our jobs. We have discussed how to report anything we notice, see, or hear. I would like to think everyone is doing this, but they are probably not. Obviously CYS and other agencies didn't have the training they needed or it could have been stopped back in 1998. The only thing I have questioned is Paterno's involvement in a cover-up. I'm still on the fence for that one. I don't think we will ever know 100% what his role was, as he didn't e-mail. The one or two e-mails that mention coach is not enough evidence to me, as it may be to some. Perv Sandusky was also referred to as "coach." I have coached several youth baseball and basketball teams, with 3-4 coaches, and the kids have referred to us all as "coach." That was also around the time Curley was discussing Sandusky's retirement. If you choose to believe otherwise that is your choice. Everyone just needs to move on and learn from it, not move on and forget all about it. By the way, I'm not going to have to deal with it for years to come, I've chosen to move on, most times when people bring it up, I ask what they are doing to learn more about abuse or prevent it. I've volunteered recently to help organize a few trainings in the area I live. I coached some basketball this past winter and we made sure no kids were ever alone with another coach, we always made sure there were other parents or another coach around as a preventative measure. What are you doing besides bashing PSU and Paterno?
Re: Success With Honor
I am not bashing Paterno or Penn State. In a previous post you UNDERLINED "Those involved in the Sandusky scandal are in prison, dead, or will be heard to court". Thru "Sins of the Fathers", the scandal is not going to disappear with those responsible for it. It will LINGER for years. PSU will pay for what the heads of the university have done for many years in many ways.
