Alumni Football Games

Post by Eaglesfan »

If you haven't seen or played in one of these games you are really missing out on a great time. If anyone has interest in setting a game up you can contact Robert Bishop on Alumni Football USA's website. Somerset is scheduled to host a game on Sept 21st and it is a 7pm kickoff. Somerset is still looking for a local opponent. It would be great to see Central Cambria, Forest Hill or any team from the Laurel Highlands put something together. These games also can be used as a great fundraiser.

The Forest Hills nation has been aware of these games for the past few years, but it seems extremely tough to get old players together. Doubt if it will ever happen for us.
It ain't over until it's over.

Bedford had 34 for their game suited up and over 60 sign up and show interest. Everyone I have talked to had a good time and I would expect Bedford to play again next year.

I would hope that next year Somerset and Bedford play. Both teams are very similar in age and the size of the rosters. Should make for a competitive game.

Yes, at some point it is time to grow up.

I'm still waiting for the first fatal heart attack on the field during one of these silly exhibitions.

Yeah, I don't think there is any bigger risk for cardiac arrest in a game like this then there is with people running 10K, half and full marathon's, old timer wrestling tourneys or basketball.

Injuries are a definite concern though. Bedford had 0in the game, CR had 1that I am aware of. (knee)

It comes down to priorities and common sense.
It ain't over until it's over.
