Hackenberg or Ferguson?

We'll find out soon enough. Who do you guys expect it to be? I'm going Hack based on the fact that I don't think there is any way he redshirts for a year so he's my pick to be the man under center in 2013.

First of all, BO'B told the world at the Big Ten Media Conference in July that he would name his starting QB by the midway point of fall camp. That certainly didn't happen. Any why? I think he secretly has been rooting for Hackenberg since day 1, but the kid just hasn't performed. He keeps delaying his decision in hopes that Hackenberg comes thru, but it just hasn't happened. Reluctantly, he may be forced to name Ferguson. You can see in his news conferences that BO'B is getting a little testy, answering the media's question about the QB situation. Hackenberg is the "darling" of the media. Everyone wants the super frosh to get the nod, including BO'B. If Hackenberg does not get the job, his progress will definitely be set back. It will hurt him when he finally gets into a game.

I wonder if it is because neither quarterback has been around for more than a handful of practices. No, that can't be it. Your version sounds better.

No. BO'B just said that these 2 QB's are the best 2 young QB's he's ever been around. Soooo...that can't be it. By the way, PSU has been practicing since Aug 5th. That's MORE than a handful of practices. BO'B wants Hackenberg, but he isn't producing. He probably promised him the moon, but just can't pull the trigger on him.

What is there, about 4 days of practices left until the season opener? And EACH QB candidate is only getting HALF the reps with the first team?

BO'B is in a tough spot. Hackenberg needs to redshirt, but he already spouted off and said both will play.?. Huh? Fergie looked good to me in the spring game, every read and throw was right. Some were a bit behind guys which I attribute to the difference between juco and D I. Hackenberg looked awful in his 2 games last year that was on ESPN. I haven't watched any practices, but jmo, Ferguson gives them their best chance to win.

Who said PSU is going to lose because they haven't named a starter yet. But since BO'B is such an offensive innovator, wouldn't it make sense to give your season starter as much time with the first team as possible before the first game?
