Just to clear things up a bit. Yes there were 4 penalties against CT. The first was a personal foul, which was offset by a windber unsportsmanlike. The second was the pass interference, which I will agree was questionable from my view. The last two were after windber scored, and were on the ct coach. So those two did not aid in windber scoring as posted previously. The pass interference, while a big call, was the only one that "aided" the windber drive.

I won't comment on the alleged coach hitting a player or the post game incident, both of which are ridiculous for high school sports. Just too bad that a good game is being lost in these things.

OK, I need to comment on this topic. First off there is no reason to be screaming at the Ref's. It won't change the calls. Having said that, I have never refereed football or basketball. But, I have done baseball and different levels. You can not do this if you are thin skinned. You need to let things roll off you. When you don't then you end up making mistakes. An example is: I was thrown out of a varsity basketball game last year. Not sure exactly what I said but it really wasn't much and wasn't personal or derogatory. Well the security guard that escorted me out is a co worker of my wife that I have known for 25 years. He was as surprised as I was. The next day he went to my wife's office and told her that after I was tossed the referee came over to him and said "That was the wrong guy. The one I wanted is still yelling". The incident went the whole way to the school board. It was a good thing it was an away game. At PM if you are removed from ANY event, you are banned from that sport for the remainder of the season.

On a lighter note we were down by 10 with a minute left. Then came back and won. When I picked my son up at the school the players all ran off the bus, ran to my truck and thanked me for standing up for them and motivating them to come from behind. They said I was voted player of the game. I think my son is the only one that knows it really wasn't me running my mouth.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever!!!

Well folks officials kick calls. I was not at this game but can tell you this, whether the officials kicked a pass interference call or not that does not give any coach or especially a fan the right to approach them after the game has ended. Before ANY PIAA sanctioned sporting event this is what is read to the head coach and captains; "PIAA requires all registered sports' officials to enforce the sportsmanship rules for coaches and contestants. Actions meant to demean opposing contestants, teams, spectators, and officials are not in the highest ideals of interscholastic education and will not be tolerated. Let today's contest reflect mutual respect....." There are coaches and fans that believe they have the right to do anything they wish during a football game and that is just not true. From the PIAA Sportsmanship handbook:

Guidelines for Behavior...
PAGE 3

FOR THE COACH…
 Exemplify the highest moral character, behavior, and leadership; adhering to strong ethical and integrity standards.
Practicing good sportsmanship is practicing good citizenship!
 Respect the integrity and personality of the individual athlete.
 Abide by and teach the rules of the Contest in letter and in spirit.
 Set a good example for players and spectators to follow: please refrain from arguments in front of players and
spectators; no gestures which indicate Contest officials or opposing coaches do not know what they are doing or
talking about; no throwing of any object in disgust. Shake hands with Contest officials and opposing coaches before
and after the Contest in full view of the public.
 Respect the integrity and judgment of Contest officials. The officials are doing their best to help promote athletics
and the student/athlete. Treating them with respect, even if you disagree with their judgment, will only make a
positive impression of you and your Team in the eyes of all people at the event.
 Display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat in public and in meeting/talking with the media.
 Please confine your remarks to Contest statistics and to the performance of your Team.
 Instruct participants and spectators in proper sportsmanship responsibilities and demand that they make
sportsmanship the No. 1 priority.
 Develop a program that rewards participants and spectators for displaying proper sportsmanship and enforces
penalties on those who do not abide by sportsmanship standards.
 Be no party to the use of profanity or obscene language, or improper actions. Do not permit student-athletes to
use profanity during practice sessions.

OF SPECTATORS...
 Remember that you are at a Contest to support and cheer for your Team and to enjoy the skill and competition; not
to intimidate or ridicule the other Team and its fans.
 Remember that interscholastic athletics are a learning experience for students and that mistakes are sometimes
made. Praise student-athletes in their attempt to improve themselves as students, as athletes, and as people as you
would praise a student working in the classroom.
 A ticket is a privilege to observe the Contest, not a license to verbally assault others and be generally obnoxious.
 Learn the rules of the Contest so that you may understand and appreciate why certain situations take place.
 Show respect for the opposing players, coaches, spectators, and support groups. Treat them as you would treat a
guest in your own home.
 Respect the integrity and judgment of Contest officials. Understand that they are doing their best to help promote
the student-athlete, and admire their willingness to participate in full view of the public.
 Recognize and show appreciation for an outstanding play by either Team.
 Refrain from the use of any controlled substances (alcohol, drugs, tobacco, etc.) before, and during Contests, and
afterwards on or near the site of the Contest (i.e. tailgating).
 Use only those cheers that support and uplift the Teams involved.
 Recognize and compliment school and athletic administrators for their efforts in emphasizing the educational
benefits of interscholastic athletics and the role of good sportsmanship to that end.
 Be a positive role model through your own actions and by censuring those around you whose behavior is
unbecoming

Like it or not, that is what is expected from coaches and fans. (you can read the rest on the PIAA website) Conemaugh Township fans, from grade school age up, fail miserably at meeting these standards. My understanding is that there are suspensions possible for at least one CT coach coming from District V. It's HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL for heaven sake.

I heard that as well. Wow! If true (I have a very good source who was there) heads will roll. And those coaches should be removed immediately. Remember they did that to the wrestling coaches last year for rumors of hazing.

no person got tazed, they, the cops had them out but no one got zapped. Remember it's township if the the wrestling coach is allowed to return, nothing else will happen to football coaches.

Yes I was told by a very reliable source that a tazer was used. A Twp coach did punch the Tomlinson kid and charges will most likely be filed. The refs door locks from the inside and was closed by Twp fans and the refs were trapped outside. A report was submitted to not only D5 but the PIAA has also been notified and an investigation will take place. This is far from over.

I heard the same story that coachcarter just said. Windber AD was on phone with district V chairman while official was on phone w Dr. Lombardi (head of PIAA). CT fans shut door and wouldn't let officials in. Again this is what I HEARD. I did not WITNESS anything.

I was there, fans didn't shut door, the refs were yelling at windber person to unlock door, it was locked as soon as they came off field. The coach that punched a kid should have charges filed. Remember township will try and cover everything they can, just like they did with the wrestling coaches, I think a lot of people would be dismayed if they new all the stuff that gets covered up here. I watched the the whole thing unfold, unless the coach that punched Tomlinson got tazed on the sideline, the coach by the locker room did not.
