Re: penns manor @ Ligonier
It always cracks me up all the people on here talking down the area kids who get D 1 looks.. I ve seen Bloom play as well, he is a very good athlete and has size plus speed. He also has the eye of some D 1 coaches who are talking to him, which unless I missed something there are not any D1 coaches here. As to the PM personal fouls the few times I ve seen them play, I ve come away with the opinion they are dirty. It s funny anytime (and there have been a few) they have a bunch of penalties you hear people trying to defend them, well the games (and they aren t a lot) I ve seen them play a lot were deserved.
Officiating is not good at the high school level let s be honest. From most accounts this game was a classic. Officiating aside, one of those where u hate to see a team lose. I look forward to seeing it .

Penns manor has had a handful of idiot good players. From my time to now I can think of a few. I won't say names to call them out but they know who they are. My one great friend Brandon Dalton was one of them! He was the poster boy of stupid after play penalties

WildCatz wrote:If you want an unbiased view, yeah they probably shouldn't have got that last play off but it was only fitting that Pm did... They did have a few legit personal fouls but then again they had a lot that shouldn't have been and led to lv scores... In the end it was a great game and despite the calls pm won.. Everything probably evened out
I spoke with a PIAA football official today. He said the play at the end of the PM/LV game WAS LEGAL. He stated there is no rule in PIAA that prevents the team from lining up and being ready prior to the clock starting. As long as they snapped the ball when the whistle was being blown then it was a legal play. Not my opinion but the opinion of an official.

Watched the last play on the Iup channel last evening and I do agree that the snap was made soon as the whistle blew, nice play.

Skippy the game will be available on the Heritage conference website. They were going to try to have it up Thurs. or Fri. You will be able to stream the whole game.

Re: penns manor @ Ligonier
I saw it lastnight too. The question ISN'T whether it was snapped on time. It's the fact that PM DOESN'T have 7 men on the line of scrimmage, they only have 5. Therefore the play IS ILLEGAL.

I may have started this but I really didn't say anything out of line here. It's true, it's much tougher to recruit kids to D1 programs who play high school ball in leagues like the Heritage conference. Tough to gauge how a player will react to the type of competition he will see at that level. What he's doing this year is against boys who aren't even close to being D1 talent. Heck, 99% of them are not even DIII players.1st&forever wrote:It always cracks me up all the people on here talking down the area kids who get D 1 looks.. This is no different than professional teams trying to evaluate players who didn't play D1 ball. That's what most of us here are saying about Bloom. I think most, if not all are pulling for the kid. I know I am and would love to see one of local boys make good but he is far from a can't miss prospect. If he was, he would have been targeted by more schools and if reports are correct, UConn was the only D1 team to make an offer. I could be wrong on that. Penn State I believe wanted him to walk on like Windber's Collin Byran did last year. Like Bloom, Bryan tore up the competition in our area but did any of us expect him to ever see the field in Happy Valley? The Westpac is a far cry from the BIG 10 is it not? Same with the Gironda boy who walked onto Alabama this year. I mean Alabama... Really?
Btw, if we are going to be honest, Pennsylvania football is no longer the recruiting hotbed it was in the past. Back in the day, PA was probably a Top 5 state on everyone's list. Not so much anymore. Hell we struggle to get a team on the USA Today's top 25 list and when we do, it seems they are out by years end. Years ago, it seemed we always had 2 or 3 on there.
