Laurel Highlands Conference Tournament

It appears that the conference has given up on this idea...the wrestling tournament idea was denied by D6 a 13-2 vote in March. This month D6 board approved conference championships for LHAC boys and girls basketball, as well as WestPac getting permission for B/G basketball, baseball, softball, track and field relays and track and field conference.

What gives? What is the reason for D6 to not allow this tournament. I must be missing something here.

In short D6 has decided that wrestling shouldn't qualify for a championship to occur that wouldn't use competition points, though they bless that for numerous other sports. The PIAA has allowed this decision to be made by each district.

Portage uses points when they participate in the WestPac tournament, while I don't believe that the D5 schools that participate in that event do.

So I understand this correctly this tournament would not count as points used? Do they have LHAC conference games for
G/B Basketball and G/B Soccer?

My belief is that the LHAC will only hold the wrestling event if it does not count as points used.

The LHAC was blessed by D6 to have a conference championship game for G/B Basketball. I'm unaware of any plans for soccer, I'm guessing that should have been worked out those details a few months ago.
