WestPac no longer "WeakPac"
Re: WestPac no longer "WeakPac"
I agree with a previous poster--there haven't been Heritage fans ripping the west pac or other conferences on here (except Konjo)....and I like how Konjo gets involved on here--not a slap on him....but it is typical that if one or two people say something, then a whole body of people get lumped in....
but in a local paper last week--a coach was quoted as saying "all we heard all week was West pac blah, blah, blah...."
why bring it to that? it wasn't the teams disrespecting any other teams--isn't that what matters?

I don't think you can call any conference stronger than one or the other, except maybe the LHAC. Domination of the conferences has almost everything to do with graduation cycles. I'm sure last year that PM, Bellwood, and NC could have played with any team from the WestPac. Sure, the WestPac may be stronger this year but that doesn't mean they're a stronger conference overall. It just depends on the year.

With no disrespect to Northern Bedford I just can't figure them out when it comes to playoff time. I remember a sub par Windber team beating them badly also on their home field. This was suppose to be the year of Tussey and Northern Bedford

Now this is TOTALLY from the outside looking in on Northern Bedford as I've only seen them play a few times in past few years. However It seems to me that when they lose these big games they almost ALWAYS get out-physicaled. Maybe they're a little too much of a finesse team and It's seems to really hurt them when they meet up with teams to like to "punch you in the mouth" kind of football for the most part..Like I said JUST MY OPINION.Ramblerman24 wrote:With no disrespect to Northern Bedford I just can't figure them out when it comes to playoff time. Maybe we should just let the elephant out of the room and say it....
Northern has avoided competition for decades and it always shows in the playoffs. They scheduled one of the weakest AAA teams in the state to pad their playoff points. When Ridge got competitive they pushed them out of the the ICC. They avoided Bellwood for years until the recent realignment. Central (7 miles up the road) wanted to schedule them when they both have open dates and they avoided that matchup.
I know I'm a going to ripped for this but the proof is in the pudding. Weak opponents and early playoff exits, year after year after year.
To be honest, good for them.

This is a strong year for westpac. I'll admit that but I am going to redirect my attention to.... Penns manor bg and Bellwood antis BC. I actually think there will be one upset tonight, not higher seed upset but perceived winner being upset. I keep looking at how BC has played this year and their defense has kept every offense down... I think Carroll may stun Bellwood tonight

If you really have to start this topic you must be really guessing the strength of your conference to have to reassure others that your conference doesn't stink... Anyone who knows anything about football could care less about conference play and knows who the good and bad teams are...

Bingo. Other than Bellwood what has their conference done? We've done pretty well against both ICC and Heritage. The LH is a AA conference and the only teams that get in the A playoffs from there should hardly be considered A. As far as the "win a d-6 champ" comment why don't you look at the teams playing D6 in the Westpac you're basically talking about one school.12HankQB wrote:which is hard to do because of the domination of Bellwood, BM, BC, and probably BG this year. So no I don't think they have to win the whole thing. They just have to do as good as heritage and icc has done against these team....I hope someone other than those teams can win a championship.formerbcplayer wrote:Win a district 6 championship and it will stop

Thank You!!! Finally someone who agrees with me! Heaven forbid I make a comment like this S Cube and others gang up on me like a Wolfpack on a deer carcus, I got called crazy when I called them a Cinderella and told I don't know what I'm talking about.
