Re: The Public's vs The Private's.....
I won't go as far as saying they should play AAAA but it's absolutely ridiculous for them to be in A. If you transfer to a private as a jr or sr you should have to play at your home school or not at all because if you're transferring at that point it's surely not for academics. As long as there isn't an even playing this is going to come up.NeutralGuy wrote:So Geibel, who can barely field a team should get moved up to AAAA or play Greensburg Central Catholic and Pittsburgh Central Catholic? Or do they coop and the Geibel student athletes not get the chance to represent their school on the gridiron?

Re: The Public's vs The Private's.....
The PIAA is afraid to get involved in a lawsuit if they seperate the Catholic or Private schools from the Public Schools. However, there is a solution that I think is fair. I believe,(in the case of the Catholic Schools in our area), they should play in the classification in which their school resides. Meaning, McCort should be AAA based on the school district in which they reside.. Johnstown. Carroll should be AA based on their area in Central Cambria. Guilfoyle should be AAAA based on their pull with Altoona.
As for the Charter schools, it is ridiculous for them to compete with the Public Schools. Lincoln Park is a Charter school for Performing Art. Do you really believe that all their 6-7 basketball players play an instrument??? Maybe someone in our area such as Ebensburg start a Charter school for football. Im sure they would be playing at Hershey every year.
The effect on this really hurts Single A classification.
Also as for my picks, I hope its Portage vs. Homer Center.

Well Rudy isn't bias at all. No one talks about this all year when they are middle of the pack in the LHAC but as soon as they start playing the Heritage and the West-Pac people start crying. If you can't beat them then you don't deserve to make the state bracket. I garuntee both BC and BG will get torn up after districts so maybe this all comes back to the quality of football in the West-Pac and Heritage.
BY NO MEANS AM I TRYING TO START THAT AGAIN! Just an idea.

Players transferring is a D6 problem. They should stop players transferring. LHAC fans complain about this too realbleacbercoach. I don't think you can blame schools for trying to get an advantage.

I place the blame on the 45 year old Al Bundy's trying to relive their glory years through their children. Showing up at games with their 25 year old 3 sizes to small letterman jackets on.The kids aren't the problem it's the boosters. The adults!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The Public's vs The Private's.....
Is everyone that talks about this subject just stupid or so one sided that they don't see the competitive advantages that are plain to see. Heritage and WestPac are made up of PUBLIC Single A(except liggy) schools that are limited to their home town boundries to pull the best talent they can out of those gentleman to fill a competitive football team. So what other quality do you want? What other teams do you want them to be? Or just bash these conferences because they're made up of what they SHOULD be. Oh but thats right its absolutely fair for a team like Bishop Carroll who can pull students from Ebensburg, Nanty Glo, Northern Cambria, Patton, Spangler, Ashville, Clymer, Twin Rocks, Cresson, Lilly, Portage, Loretto, Gallitzen, Ashville, Wilmore, Summerhill etc etc etc to compete against these teams because in retrospect it means aboslutely nothing right ??? The PIAA is corrupt and turned blind eyes for years and always will and we're used to it. But to say that its because the QUALITY of these small schools fault is ridiculous and you should be ashamed of that answer.TheRealBleacherCoach wrote:Well Rudy isn't bias at all. Green Machine I love your post. BUT, please don't lump Clymer in there. The three girls I mention being recruited by BC but turned it down were from the Clymer area. LOL GO MUSTANGS!!!!!
