West Pac Playoff Predictions +

Post by Chiefwapum »

D5 A Playoff Predication + picks for the rest

Last week both North Star and Windber brought their 2013 campaign to a finish.
Both squads had identical records of 6-5 and did not necessarily live up to the
pre-season hype which tells us all to never buy into that too much. It’s nice to read
but, that is what it is intended for (reading material). I believe both these teams will be
poised to have similar years next year. I am kind of curious as to what happened to
Windber’s RB/LB as he was one of their best players and I did not see him on the field.
Good job to both programs on a successful year>

Shade (6-5) @ Tussey Mountain (9-2)
I can’t say enough about this Shade team. Talk about a bunch of kids with heart. This is a
Classic example of how a team can rise to the occasion and pull off a win when everyone
else is expecting them to fail. Generally following big emotional wins teams tend to come out
flat and that is what I fear will happen to the panthers. The panthers are heading over the
hill and through the woods but are not visiting grandma. Tussey is playing good football and
look to line it up and run right at the panthers. I realize shade will be prepared by their coach
(My Vote for: Coach of the Year) he seems to be the 12th man when preparing his players each
and every week. I think Shade has exceeded all expectations and should let it rip this week and
they may just find themselves in line for yet another huge upset. I however think the real Cinderella
team this year(Not NB) will be leaving the ball complements of a good TM team. I will be
hoping my prediction is wrong and the Panthers shock us all again.
TM 28-14

Meyersdale (8-2) @ Berlin (9-1)
Back yard Brawl #2. Meyersdale is the only blemish on Berlin’s record this year in a crazy
Triple overtime win. Berlin has been gaining their momentum back each and every week since
then. I do not believe this game will have the same drama as their earlier meeting and call me
crazy but, I think Berlin wins this one by a couple TD’s. Shade and TM have shown how to slow
down the Meyersdale offense so I am sure Berlin will be prepared for them this time around.
I also think that if Berlin remains one dimensional on offense/defense as they were in the first
meeting we will have the same result. In the end Meyersdale could be labeled as the cardiac
kids as they have been in quite a few last minute wins as of late and seem to always pull it out.
This week however I will go with the Mountain Men
Berlin 26-14

Forest Hills @ Central Central 35-14

Is portage not considered a part of the westpac anymore? Just curious since you didn't do a write-up on them

Sometimes it slips my mind because they are in D6. I sure hope they can pull out a win....

Bishop Guilfoyle @ Portage
Although I would love to see a win by the mustangs (and will be routing for them) I was not impressed with them at
all in the game I seen them play live this year. I don't think they have the horses up front to beat Bishop. I could be
wrong and maybe the game I seen was an off game. Guilfoyle has a tough defense and most likely it will be the best
defense the Stangs have seen this year. Can Portage win? Yes, but they will need to be at the top of there game.
Still would have to predict the score of this one as originally posted BG 21-7
