Nhl proves to be the most momentum based sport! Flyers win against pens 2-1. Flyers on a 3 game winning streak. Pens on 3 game losing streak. Long season to come. Great game can't wait til the next

Flyers capitalized on a PP that came from a garbage call and that was the difference. Emery and a few posts stole this one from the Pens.

Yeah but the Pens scored earlier in the 2nd on a PowerPlay after the ref missed an obvious high stick on the Pens. It goes both ways...you can't look at through only black and gold colored glasses.

The Flyers have been a better team over the last week. Blew out a pretty good Ottawa team on the road. Giroux is starting to get going and most of all Emery is on lockdown in net. The metropolitan division is wide open...

Thanks for the advice, I'll try that. I realize calls go both ways. I'm sure the Pens will win games this year because of questionable calls and I'll feel fine about it. I'm sure they will lose games because of questionable calls and I'll be irritated by it.

I guess what irks me most about that call is the ref standing 11 feet away didn't make the call but the one 50 feet away did. That and that it gave the Flyers a 5 on 3.

There are more pressing issues for the Pens right now though... 0 even strength goals in 3 games is disgusting. HCDB being out-coached again last night is frustrating. Dupuis being almost non existent thru 20 games is a major concern of mine. Maybe it's time to give someone else a shot on 87's wing.

I'm not sure why Megna isn't staying in the lineup. He was better than Jokinen beside Geno. If I were to create the lines and pairings, here is what I would try:

14-87-19
59-71-18
36-16-9
27-46-15

44-58
7-5
41-3

I wouldn't have an issue with that... maybe flop 19 and 59 but that would be about it. I like HCDB but his inability to change anything drives me nuts. His go to move is double shifting 87/71 or tossing them out there together, thats it. Right now the Pens can't score, why not try something new?

But now I see they reassigned Megna...

This frustrates me. You are suppose to reward young players that come up and make an impact, not ship them back down. Pens have really ruined some young prospects over the years, IMO, because they don't give them a decent chance to stick in the lineup. Jeffery, Tangradi, now Megna. Give the kid a fair NHL chance. Shows no reward for hard work and production.

Watching the game last night to the previous one the two things that stuck out last night for pens was only the Malkin and Crosby line got going. And second their defenders had trouble controlling the puck. The first one is OK but Pittsburgh is one of the best defensive puck handling teams. I was surprised last night when they didn't show it

I don't disagree with that at all abpk. In the limited chances Megna had he played with tons of energy and chipped in a few points. What more can he do? He looked confident playing on Malkins wing, which can't be easy for a young player. Sure Malkin can make people look good but to have the confidence to go out and play with one of the top 10 players in the world in your first few games says something. I don't know... every time the Pens struggle a little bit I get grouchy and aggravated. Sooner or later they will rip off 8-10 in a row and everything will be right in my little world again.
