Keys to Victory (Somerset vs Clearfield)
Thought I'd put up a little something heading into tonight based on the knowledge I have and some research. Anything you want to add I'd love to hear it
!
Clearfield (D9)
1. Christian Lezzer - Your big man. Go to guy. Lezzer is who people think about when they hear Clearfield. He's the QB that looks like a fullback. I mean he is going to play LB at BC next year. The kids huge. He likes to run and does so with a vengance with over 1, 000 yards on the season. He has to be effective for them to get a W tonight and can't let the defense key on the run.
2. Pass Coverage- A little weak at the beginning of the season but have improved. Somerset has a good offensive ariel attack and Clearfield will get to prove tonight if they are up for the challenge.
3. Line Play- Somerset's defensive line is relentless. They get to the quarterback very well and plug up running holes. The Clearfield line will need to be physical and win the battle in the trenches and get tothe next level.
Somerset (D5or6 who knows anymore?)
1. Tanner Stull- Lezzers opposite. Stull is not a big kid but he is the go to guy and the guy everyone thinks of when they hear Somerset is coming to town. Dual threat QB with great speed and ability to make people miss. Stull can make this game very exciting if he starts to air it out. If clearfield isn't ready for Stull it could be a long night for that defense.
2. Defense- Somerset defense is very underrated. They are a defense led by pure guts and heart. They have multiple LB that will cover and smack you in the mouth on a run play. The strongest part of this defense in the D-Line. Led by a host of big guys this line is every QB's nightmare. Look for this defense to be ready for Lezzer tonight.
3. Speed/Athletes- They have the weapons and the speed. They need to find a way to use that tonight. I believe they are faster and if the chance to make some open field plays we will see some of that mismatch.
Both teams
1. Special Teams- This could be huge in tonights game. Somerset made a bunch of mental errors last week in Pittsburgh and need to clean that up.Clearfield doesnt make to many mistakes ive seen but they will need to play smart special teams tonight also. I think the advantage in place kicking goes to Somerset with Sam Hayward. If he is on he could contribute a lot tonight.
Hopefully we see a heck of a game tonight!
