I understand why they want to attend united distance wise. I think ligonier and united should of had talks about district lines because some lv students probably live 10 minutes away from united

That argument could be made for many students in many districts, but a boundary is a boundary. And lying about where you live is illegal.

If you use a relative's residence that is closer to the chosen school, it's not illegal. Maybe unethical, but not illegal. Any system has loopholes, re: public vs privates.

I agree it can be made by many students but those who live right next to the river are about 30 minutes or more to ligonier and just 5 - 10 minutes from united. Ligonier and United should of both taken on parts of the old Ligonier school district.

You could do this all day. The students that live in Seward were closer to United when the old Laurel Valley school was open. There are students in Cambria County along route 22 that are closer to United but attend Central Cambria and are closer than students in Brush Valley township that attend United. It is what it is.

The thing about CC is really weird, if a kind lives in blacklick valley that's where they go to school, keep going down 22 and ur in Jackson twp which goes to CC which makes no sense

There are a ton of kids from the northern part of ligonier valley district (old laurel valley) that are enrolled in cyber school.. because parents don't want their kids riding a half hour each way on 711 with all the idiot coal truck drivers that fly on that road. And rightfully so....

PApride: There have been too many cases where parents separate, and a kid has to choose where he/she wants to attend. Whoever has legal guardianship is where the kid attends. Even with extended family i.e. aunt, uncle, grandparents.
It ain't over until it's over.
