Pretty much perfect game from the Pens last night.... after the first 10-12 mins or so it was about as one sided as a game can get. Orpik/Martin totally shut down Ovechkin and the rest of the #1 line. It's weird to watch Malkin right now... he is playing like a total man on a mission but looks like he is almost scared to shoot the puck. Like the 2-0 last night when he made a pass 12' away from the goalie... the Malkin of old buries that 90% of the time. He is racking up assists like crazy right now but eventually is going to need to find the back of the net somewhat consistently.

Nice back to back wins against two pretty solid teams... another nice test coming up this weekend with Montreal and Boston.

I liken Malkin's play right now, to an NBA shooting guard that finds himself in a prolonged shooting slump. He is still going to play every game, and his game will come around eventually, but meanwhile, he's doing what he can for the T-E-A-M. I applaud him. :ymapplause:

Well since this is about the flyers the weekly update shows we are continuing getting ourselved out of the pit hole with a 5-0-1 record in the last six games.

Numbers for the Pens Flyers game on the 13th just came out. Apparently it was the most watched NHL game since 2001. Apparently the best thing for hockey is watching these teams play.

Do you have a source for that? I highly doubt it was higher than any of the Winter Classics or any number of SCF games.

But the numbers these teams bring in, good or bad, I'm sure there will be pressure with the NHL to host an outdoor game with these teams against each other. I say have them play in beaver stadium, winner gets 3rd home game. Easily would fill up state college and I can't imagine how many people would watch.

This may be the first thing you've ever said that I actually agree with, sadly I doubt it will ever happen. It would be too tough logistically to make it work.

I think logistics are being tested at the big house this year. If they can get logistics to work there and in California I'm sure beaver stadium wouldn't be a problem
