Ridiculous.
five would also work. I just don't see how schools with numbers of 81 compete with schools that have 175. I know it does happen but more often than not it doesn't.

Nowhere near enough schools for more than 4 class system. Numbers are only decreasing my man.
Re: Heritage Conference love!
The LV consolidation is only the beginning. With changes in the education laws and funding, you're going to see more and more small schools start to consolidate. Leading to less schools and making an argument for >4 class system irrelevant.

I strongly disagree. Pennsylvania has more schools in one class rnak then most have in their state. To think you can't split things up evenly with 5 classes is ridicoulous. Thereare already over 500 schools in PIAA. There would still be more than 100 schools per classification.NeverQuit wrote:The LV consolidation is only the beginning. Ok I'm not going to research it Konjo, but what is the point of getting away from a 4 class system?

Re: Heritage Conference love!
A lot of the smaller schools end up playing schools who have double the class size. When a school has 80 more males eligible than a school who only has 80 eligible males it makes a huge different in talent size.
Re: Heritage Conference love!
But you can make that same argument at almost every level in football. It is simply the most notable in single-A. It is just as prominent in quad-A. Consider the very smallest quad-A schools such as Central Mountain who has around 300 kids per grade at the high school. Most years, they they cannot compete with schools such as State College, Cumberland Valley, etc. that have 600-700+ per grade.konjo78 wrote:A lot of the smaller schools end up playing schools who have double the class size. Agreed up north that's why people say a 6 system. Expand bottom and top
Re: Heritage Conference love!
I'm not opposed to a 6 system for football only, but everyone has to realize the additional costs involved in implementing this change. The end result would be more games (for the most expensive high school sport except for hockey), additional playoff venue rentals and additional labor. My (un)educated guess would lead me to assume that dues for member schools would increase as well. That might be a hard sell in the current fiscal environment.konjo78 wrote:Agreed up north that's why people say a 6 system. Expand bottom and top
One of the more interesting aspects of going to a 6 system for me is would it lead to a bunch of conference re-alignments?
