Draft outlook for steelers

Post by Aoki12 »

I am just curious to what everybody thinks about where the steelers should go in this years draft. My thoughts are, they need a receiver, let's face it brown is not a #1. He has good speed, and can make big plays but he just doesn't have the CONSISTENT hands that roethlisberger needs. Sammy Watkins, Marqise Lee, and Mike Evans are 3 good options. Out of those three Watkins would be the one to shoot for. Has good strength size and is super mobile for that, he's a lot like Andre Johnson or Fitzgerald. The next avenue I would go down is offensive line, although many will argue that the secondary is old and should be the first order of business i do not think age is coming to play quite yet, i think this secondary can hang for another 2-4 years and then its time. offensive line, key name in this category: Jake Mathews!!!!! He's a beast, one of the unsung heroes in FBS, he has allowed 3 sacks all season and has 17 pancakes. Good stuff. But even more importantly, he has striking speed and work ethic is great. Would love to hear what you guys think.

Would love nothing more than to see the Steelers add a stud LT but no way Mathews is available. Wouldn't mind Taylor Lewan from Michigan.
I agree WR will be a need area as well as Emmanuel Sanders moves on after this season. Hopefully Wheaton steps up and proves more than what he has so far this season. I also hope they bring Cotchery back at a reasonable amount. Would love a guy like Allen Robinson if he were to slip to them at the top of the 2nd round.

I Agee he will go top five guaranteed, he is one of the best OL prospects in recent years. And you are right konjo, with footes injuries he is just too inconsistent, Mosley from Alabama, boy would I kill to see that. Him and jones teaming up with a healthy woodley, that would be absolutely killer!

They need defense period... Pick a spot.. They are all on geritol. Kiesel is starting to break down and older, LB would be nice... 43&24 are long in tooth, need a safety soon... And cb should be #1 pick! Taylor is making people rich on opposing offenses.. Other than Cortez Allen , I wouldn't want any of the others(cb)
As far as receivers, top 3 pro ready wr are Benjamin-FSU , Ebron-unc, and Lee- USC

CB has been priority for atleast 3 years now, and they never take one! I'd like to see Ha-Ha from bama play safety for the steelers

Ebron more of a TE but this day and age is there really a difference??? As far as the WR go I would have to put Mike Evans from A&M and Jordan Matthews from Vanderbilt on that list. I also love Allen Robinson at the next level. I love WRs that go and get the ball (take note Mike Wallace) and his RAC ability is about as good as it gets. As you can tell by everyone's predictions the Steelers have many needs and could go numerous directions with their first pick.

He's 6'2 pride? How tall do you want your recievers to be? Fitzgerald is 6'3? As long as they are in the 6'0 range that's decent size

Ebron would be a okay option, he reminds me a lot of calvin Johnson in his stature. I just don't think he has good speed. The steelers could try to train him as an over the middle threat so that he could use his size and power to fight for balls but other than that I don't see him in a receiver setting. He is more if a safety valve type tight end, with great run and impact blocking. Do we really need a right end? Miller is starting to show signs of losing it but I don't know. Would it really be worth it to bring him in? Or do they lack somewhere else? I think there are more worth it wide receiver options out there. Watkins and Evans are really eye catching to me
