Private Public School Debate
Re: Private Public School Debate
That's because BC basically had a veteran team returning. And that ONE kid who DID transfer in DID make a big difference. Icing on the cake, so to speak.

BC won basically on the defensive side of the ball. They were not able to score many points in alot of the games. Give the kids that played credit, they played hard Also all kids that play sports are athletes. That was BC"s first year in the last 7 or so that they did good.
Re: Private Public School Debate
All I need to know about the difference between Private and Public is:
CW North Catholic who just won the PIAA class A state football championship is listed on the new PIAA enrollments as the 13th smallest school in the state playing football.
According to the numbers they have two more male students than Ferndale. Anyone on this board think Ferndale will be winning a state championship in football any time soon? I know the Ferndale kids just need to work harder (LOL).

I don't expect any District 5 or District 6 team to win a state title anytime soon. Our best just ain't good enough.

I really would have liked to see what Richland would have done had they gotten out of the district. Hickory matched up well with Central. Past Districts its all about matchups.

These kids that they have started from kindergarten in various parochial sch'ools on up to 12th grade because the parents wanted them to have a catholic education. They had no intention of going to a public school. A perfect example of this was when St Mary's in the BV School District closed alot of these kids went to HOLY NAME in Ebensburg not for sports but again the parents wanted them to have a catholic education. These 5 schools that you are talking about are BC's Elementary.YOU have to remember the parents pay to send their kids to BC and if it didn't cost so much they would be AA if not AAA. 98 to 99% of all these kids that are at BC came the whole way through that system. Keep in mind ,,before you say,yea but they have kids transfer in for sports you are talking 1 maybe 2 kids and sometimes they have other reasons. Also, know this, in any given year 3 or 4 transfer out and some are good athletes .Bottom line is these kids are all BC from K-12 >all this being said I know it won't change any minds because 90%of the people in this forum like to bash private schoolsBlueandwhitefan wrote:knowitall wrote:There is no problem just a lot of whining, most of it coming from A.
I wouldn't call wanting a fair playing field whining. BC has players from 5 schools. If I took the best players from 5 heritage Conference schools I guarantee they would beat BC, BG, and BM. I don't have kid's that play but I do feel bad for the ones that do have to play them. Any way you look at it the system is wrong.
Then why did the BC coach him haw around and try to avoid the question, Then when he did answer it was " 5 school districts. Not 5 elementary school's"? Or are they from so many that he doesn't even know.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever!!!
Re: Private Public School Debate
I heard the same interview and didn't come away thinking he was avoiding the question. He probably had to think about how many districts there are in the Ebensburg area. Why do you think he would know that answer off the top of his head? Do you think that is a piece of data that he tracks? He's a football coach, not a registrar.Blueandwhitefan wrote: Then why did the BC coach him haw around and try to avoid the question, Then when he did answer it was " 5 school districts.
