Rollins and Howard are barely above replacement level players anymore, and at their age they are major injury risks. Why not go with the younger guys who will perform just as well and cost much less without having to give up any prospects? Rollins and Howard are nothing more than big names at this point.

Plus, Ruben Amaro is a terrible GM who will be trying to save his job by winning, not rebuilding. He's still trying to make another run or else these guys would have already been long gone.

I didn't say they wouldn't be risky deals. A lot of players when given a new situation can increase their productivity in a new role. Remember 2 years ago Marlon Byrd had to go to a Mexican league to prove he could still play and now he just signed a multi year deal with Philly (which makes little sense).

Once again I'm not saying they should or should not make any of these deals but I think it is a phone call worth making for Huntington.

I understand the thought abpk. I also agree that an upgrade at SS, 1B, and SP would help. I just don't think the answer is in Philly.

As insurance maybe.... Still like to see Lambo full time if they don't (and they won't) get proven big bopper . Wallace had over 100k in under 300 ab.... No thanks. Pedro will do enough for everyone else
