Undefeated season
Undefeated season
Can anybody recall a local team going through the regular season and district playoffs undefeated? I can't recall of any in recent memory.

Westmont boys did it in 2006-07. They finished 29-1 losing to Beaver Falls in the second round of the state playoffs. Back then they also played 24 regular season games instead of 22.

Didn't remember that group. Lived out of state then. Must have been a good team there.

Windber boys did it back in 2000-2001...they finished 29-1..they lost to Aliquippa in the state quarterfinals..

Penn Cambria boys, under Bruce Frycklund, did it in the 90's!

Re: Undefeated season
The Williamsburg girls in 1996-97 are the only area team I'm aware of that went undefeated and won the state championship. The question was, undefeated through the regular season AND postseason. Neither Westmont, Windber or Penn Cambria won state championships, thus not going undefeated. I don't even think the 1996 Juniata Valley state championship team went undefeated, and they were one of the best teams I ever played against/watched play.

Re: Undefeated season
The question was only regular season and district playoffs. Very impressive by Williamsburg though, especially since they are such a small school.

My bad, I didn't see district in front of playoffs.
