D6 place winner predictions

Post by CRWizard »

Anyone want to post some expectations predictions? D6 overall had a good regional tourny.

There has been discussions on the D6 board that indicate otherwise regarding D6's SW performance. A part of my post from that thread:

D5 12/74 = 16.2% of schools. 14/70 qualifiers = 20% of qualifiers

D6 26/74 = 35.1% of schools. 21/70 qualifiers = 30% of qualifiers

D7 36/74 = 48.7% of schools. 35/70 qualifiers = 50% of qualifiers

based on the number of kids taken out of districts it all end up pretty even. 1 of 3 moved on from district 5

33.33 % of the district 5 moved on 14 out of 42
37.5 % of disctrict 6 21 out of 56
and 36.7 % of district 7 35 out of 98

when District 7 gets 7 qualifiers to SW its only natural that they have more state qualifiers. I think that D-7 should have their 7th place qualifier given to D-5's 4th place finisher. it'll never happen but as a D-5 fan i'd like to see that happen. It would give D-5 more of an opportunity to qualify more wrestlers for states.

i agree captin. but i would bet if the 14- 4th wrestled the 14- 7 placers from disctrict seven im thinking we would be lucky to win 2 or 3 matches.

D-5 has no business getting a 4th qualifier for regionals. I also don't believe D-7 has any business getting 7. I would give 6 a 5th if it was up to me.

i probably should have rephrased my post to "id like for D-5 to get a 4th qualifier". D-5 doesnt deserve it but it'd be nice. I'd have to agree with your idea of 6 getting a 5th. IMO 7 qualifiers in a 14 man bracket is to many.

I thought I remembered someone posting that D-6 & D-7 were each getting an additional entry thereby eliminating any byes? Maybe I was dreaming it.....

That would be my suggestion, 7 from D7, 6 from D6, and 4 from D5. I don't think this would change the State qualifiers much anyway since the D6 6th placer and D5 4th placer would end up wrestling against champions from other districts in their first match, but they might make a little noise in the consolation rounds. It would also give some young wrestlers a taste of regional level competition to prepare for seasons to come.

I may have read wizards post wrong, but I thought he was asking about expectations for d6 at tomorrows tourney
To answer that, I'd say 2 medals at 106, 1 at 113 although Glorioso didn't help himself at regional, one at 120, I'd say Doak , Thompson,Oliver (both of em), Maines , Hazel, and maybe 1 of the Richland kids should all medal... Beckwith has a decent shot too if he wins his first match.
