Re: James Franklin...
I heard Coach Chryst just called Sterling Jenkins and congratulated him on committing to Penn State and wished he was there too. He's such a nice guy.
Re: James Franklin...
And QB Brandon Wimbush has also committed to Penn State

Re: James Franklin...
Unbelievable recruiting class. Penn State isn't beating Pitt for these recruits. They are beating the likes of Alabama, Florida State, and Ohio State for some of these recruits. Going to be an exciting time in a few years.
Re: James Franklin...
While on the last bus caravan, Franklin made some interesting comments when asked how he was going to have his "early" verbals stay committed until LOI day. Was he going to babysit them for the next 9 months so they don't go astray??? His answer was simple. He EXPECTS those who verbal to "honor" their commitment. Your word is good as your bond. But isn't it funny when Penn State coaches go after kids who have already given their verbal to another school. I guess Franklin wants kids to KEEP their word to Penn State, but at the same time wants OTHER commits at other schools to change their minds in hopes of switching to Penn State. And please, don't say everybody does it. This is Franklin's philosophy, one which he lives by. Don't bring other coaches into the mix.
Re: James Franklin...
I don't know what you expect from him. He's a competitor, trying to put together the best possible team he can. Why does he care how he does it? Those kids are biggy boys Moldo, they can make their own decisions, this isn't 3rd grade flag football it's not like he promises them an extra juicebox after the game. No. Stop trying to cite everything Franklin does as evil. He's trying to succeed, and quite frankly it's really none of your business of how he does it. And don't bring morals into this because its not about that, if you were in Franklin shoes you would be going about it the same way.El-Moldo wrote:While on the last bus caravan, Franklin made some interesting comments when asked how he was going to have his "early" verbals stay committed until LOI day. Re: James Franklin...
You missed the whole point entirely. Franklin expects ALL his verbals to stay committed for the next 9 months. It's a matter of honor. Meanwhile he will try to entice verbals at other schools to transfer to PSU. What's up with that? This guy is a shyster thru and thru. Tell the media what they want to hear. What a philosopher.

Re: James Franklin...
Several of these guys have received additional offers since committing so yeah everyone does it. Lol
You play to win the game!!!
Re: James Franklin...
I think they wiped their asses with the Pitt offers though
Re: James Franklin...
When I started this post, I asked, "Don't say everyone does it". THIS is Franklin's true philosophy, whether others do it or not. Again, he EXPECTS his new recruits to stay committed. No changes. It's the honorable thing to do. BUT, at the same time, he can tamper with the commitments of others, right? A little hypocritical, isn't it? And by the way, wasn't it Franklin who asked the Vanderbilt rape victim to go find "15 pretty girls to help with recruiting. I know it's against the rules, but EVERYONE DOES IT". Who is he trying to kid?
