You know we can't have any discussion because certain people are on a witch hunt against Catholic schools, give it a rest and respond to the actual thread. As far as freshman and sophomores are concerned, Ferndale has quite a few good freshman coming up from a successful JH team last year. Keep these names in mind for the next few years... Nate Pudliner, Hunter Kinsey, Jared Ohler, Jack Grow, Nate Barrett, and TaShaun Moore. This could be the class that finally turns that terrible football program around

Hopefully your right Sportslover. I've known Chip Ryan for a long time and it would be nice to see him and those kids get back to winning. He's definitely a good guy to help change the mind set of the team. He's one the nicest and most positive thinking guys you'd ever meet. He's a high energy guy

What's the word on Coach Ryan returning dragons 24? I had heard about Mid season he had heart issues and wouldn't do anything about it and gutted it out over fear of losing the program with only 13 kids left at that time. After the season ended he just went in and had it repaired or something was the word I heard, so I wondered of his return?

Wow that's great to hear!!
Re: top underclassmen in the area
In 1999, Hollidaysburg challenged a young lady's transfer to BG and the district committee and PIAA supported the challenge and voted to deny it. The family took it to Blair County Court where a judge ruled the young lady's right to equal protection had been violated. Pretty much every D-6 transfer request since then has been a unanimous vote to approve. Does anyone know of a transfer that's been contested in the past 10 years (other than on this board ;-)?Crimson's Ghost wrote:That's not a defense, that's a fact. If wrong doing was done, isn't it the public school district's due diligence to challenge such a transfer? Maybe the public schools should do some soul searching as to why they would have kids willingly leave their school district.

I think Billy Hipp's transfer was contested, but somehow it went thru.

I heard Central has a very promising freshman class coming up to jv and varsity, especially lineman. Does anybody have info on any of the players that are worth checking out?

Yes one of the coaches told me it's potentially the best class of offensive and defensive lineman he's seen since he's been there. Main reason the 9th grade team only gave up a combined 6 points in mountain league games last year and dominated State College was that teams couldn't get out of their own backfield. Not just big but fast and physical as well.bigtimedefence wrote:I heard Central has a very promising freshman class coming up to jv and varsity, especially lineman. Brice Brumbaugh, Luke Thomas, Cam Norris, Brandon Buchart and Trevor Miller are just a few of the names that will likely contribute early and often.

I've heard there names thrown around. I believe they can produce a powerful line, both sides of the ball.
