New Windber MEGA-sports Complex + a bit of irony
Re: New Windber MEGA-sports Complex + a bit of irony
I agree with the stubborn city government/ leaders, but lets face it, with the Point Stadium, Johnstown has one of the nicest parks around that isn't being used as fully as it could be.
It ain't over until it's over.

It was a suspended game. Only four of the 11 innings were thrown on the Friday in question.Manfred wrote:I forgot you know everything. I read the paper, it listed pitcher X as the only pitcher for that game, it was on a Friday, and less than 2 days later, he throws 6 against St.M. A mistake, possibly. But everyone knows the Trib doesn't make mistakes.

So Manferd, you'll telling me you agree with an empty stadium and NO REVENUE??? Welcome to NO VISION Johnstown, Home of the EMPTY Point Stadium....When the City Mayor and his predecessor don't even want to talk baseball, what the hell is it good for??? Your precious AAABA one week a year, with 7,500 fans...what about the other 51 weeks of the year??? NO VISION!!!

No, sorry. Let me re-phrase my previous statement for you, so it's easier to understand. I agree with the statement -ABOUT- the stubborn city leaders. I DO NOT agree with them! Sorry if you were misled. It wasn't my intent. See how even a slight omission totally changes the meaning. The Point is a great facility, and should be used as much as possible, each and every day, and it is not.
It ain't over until it's over.

Doesn't the AAABA league have DHs at the Point Monday thru Friday during June and July? And don't travel teams and Colt use it on the weekends?Manfred wrote:No, sorry. As it is a city recreation facility, the gate should be opened daily to allow pickup baseball, softball, wiffle ball or football games. It would still likely sit empty.
Re: New Windber MEGA-sports Complex + a bit of irony
know it , When was the last time you have seen a pickup baseball game in your area ? I know it has been a long time since I have seen one.
Re: New Windber MEGA-sports Complex + a bit of irony
Around 1985 or so.
Re: New Windber MEGA-sports Complex + a bit of irony
It is a different world. How many kids in 1985 sat in their house with Xbox Live or playing on a cell phone all day?
Re: New Windber MEGA-sports Complex + a bit of irony
How about Wiffle Ball ?
