Re: Rawlings footballs
Well half way through the season and I have yet seen a player, coach or team blame the football.

Nope it hasn't made a difference yet but after playing in the rain last week I saw a player post pictures of his hands and white jersey with red stains all over it from the ball. Just shows how poorly made they are.

Re: Rawlings footballs
We have only played one team that (other than us) are using it. Most teams are just avoiding them until they have to. That might be why we haven't heard many complaints...because not many schools are using them?
Re: Rawlings footballs
They made terrible stains on jerseys and hands on Friday night when they got wet. I messaged Rawlings and the PIAA and have heard no reply. We should gather pictures.
We used them the first few weeks and since nobody else was using them we went away from them too. They are terrible footballs; absolute junk compared to what we are used to using. Teams should refuse to use them in the playoffs and let the PIAA figure it out.

Re: Rawlings footballs
Yea, they are bad. You have to get them a little wet before you play and towel wipe all the red stain off so your jerseys don't get ruined. Aslo, the bladder baloons up after they get wet so it is substantially larger than the Wilson's. I called PIAA headquarters just to confirm whether we MUST use them in the playoffs and they said yes. Additionally, the rule states that teams are responsible for providing three per game, whereas PIAA, (or maybe it was just our District), provided all playoff balls in the past. So...If your team looks like they are going to the playoffs.. they better order some. Who knows..if they don't have any..they might have to forfeit?! LOL. Wouldn't that be a scene!

maybe we can the PIAA to spend some of that money on the jersey the ball destroys then. I didn't notice it on Friday night could have been the practice ball

CC doesn't use them because they're junk. Just from a couple practices they get flat spots and become deformed.

Couldn't that become a major disadvantage come playoff time?CCDevil2012 wrote:CC doesn't use them because they're junk. Just from a couple practices they get flat spots and become deformed.

Not if you don't make the playoffs
