Big games in the District 5 race tonight

Post by footballguy99 »

Tussey hosts Mt Union.

NBC travels to Williamsburg.

Shade plays at Windber.

The way each of these games plays out will have a big impact on the D5 seeding.

Tussey is likely a 20 point underdog to the Trojans as Mt Union has looked great all year. Tussey can run and I think that if there is a weakness to Mt Union it is defending the run. I think they are better suited to stopping what Tussey does though and think a team that runs right at them has the best shot. The TM fullback will need to have a big night for Tussey to have a chance. They'll also have to force multiple turnovers to keep Mt Union off the board. A win by the Titans would lock up the top seed.

NBC plays good defense and Williamsburg plays good offense. On the other side of the ball for each team, they are weaker. NBC has to be able to run, score 21, and keep the turnovers to a minimum and they can win. Williamsburg can go off at any time. Shaw, Young, and Biddle form a terrific trio for the Pirates.

Shade has to travel to Windber and defend the single wing. I wasn't sure what to think about this game at first, but Shade has the physical tools that should allow them to control this game. If Windber can play like they did a week ago, they have a shot and need some big plays to stay in it. I would say Shade is favored by two touchdowns. The winner goes to Meyersdale next week. The loser hosts Blacklick. So I'm feeling the Shade ends up 6-4 either way and Windber ends up 5-5 either way.

I think this is a Shade team that's hungry for some Red Raiders in a rematch. Would love to see that! Week 10 will be a good one

If Shade wins who would be the higher seed for playoffs?
