Bizarre ending to a HS Football game
This is a Utah high school football playoff game with the most bizarre ending I have ever seen. The Red team leads 14-11 with 3 seconds left in the game and decides to run a play on 4th down to run out the clock instead of punting. Watch the video to see what ends up happening.

Steff: He didn't quit.
Nickerson: What did you say?
Steff: Salvucci, he didn't quit. None of us quit. I don't know. We beat those guys asses up and down that field tonight! We got nothing to be ashamed of, right? Isn't that right? Maybe the scoreboard doesn't say it, but we won that game. We held them. It was just a fluke. That's all. It's just a fluke.
Nickerson: A fluke? That pass-interference penalty was no fluke. If you had done it the way I taught you, they never would've been down there in the first place, and they never would've scored, and we would've won that game! You're just as responsible as he is.
Steff: Oh, yeah? If you would've had Rifleman hold the ball, then we would've won the game. We didn't quit. You quit!
Nickerson: Get your stuff and get the hell out of here right now.
Steff: What?
Nickerson: You heard me. You get out of here. You're through. You're off the team.

I feel bad for that kid. You would think by now he would know that the game isn't over just because the clock ran out. Take a knee man

Have to put the blame on the coaching staff. Take the time to make sure that everyone knows exactly what to do in that situation, even if you have to take a few delay of game penalties to draw it on a whiteboard.

99% on coaches..... A varsity starter should know better anyway. But coaches should have at least been hollering if they didn't have any timeouts

This happened in a game in Erie last year. Player was going to taken an intentional safety at the end of the game to win it, but 'forgot' to go down or out the back of the endzone. Ball was stripped and recovered for the winning touchdown.
Some kids really need to be taught the basics of the rules. Reminds me when Donovan McNabb was surprised an NFL game could end in a tie.
