Also BG may not have the enrollment but they are right in the middle of Altoona. Thats gonna help. BG was a very good football team. But dont take anything away from the somerset team that has been 18-2 in the past two regular seasons after the program was almost non existed for 15-20 years.
They're comparable in size to all the District 9 teams, Indiana, Greensburg, Uniontown. I'm not sure what the martins are for football classes but they're pretty solid Aaa. Other sports have wider gaps, especially since many sports are only two or three class. I still think that a football team should want to be challenged, you want to go into playoffs knowing you can compete with comparable schools. Now they go into playoffs against Punch who has played Dubois and Clearfield or USO who plays all AAAA, so we will see what happens. Hopefully they'll get a win or two.

USO plays a very weak city league. The AAAA schools in the city league are bad. And somerset beat USO last year and played clearfield tough. They are pretty competitive as it is. LHAC is where they fit. If they could get a couple games with some AAA schools im sure they would. Maybe even tyrone or central or CR. But the LHAC is a set schedule.

The game was closer than the score showed. Somerset drove inside bgs 30 about 5 times. They had 2 passes that also were just missed early in the game to mostoller and deblase in the corner of the end zone that could have changed the outcome. Also a bad call on the fumble barnes picked up and ran in the end zone. Watched the tape and he wasn't down. Also like someone else said about hemmy just missed a pick six and 22 caught it for a big play and then they went up 14-3. But congrats to bg. They are better than I thought they were. Great job coaching by bg. Great game plan blitzing the middle shutting heiple down and putting constant pressure on barnes. Coaches also shut mostoller and beeman down. Great game plan. Offensively they put new wrinkles into the plan and they worked and the players did a great job of carrying out the plan. Also barnes spraining his ankle in the first didn't help! Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.
