Bethlehem Catholic
Just back home from watching Bethlehem Catholic knock off Crestwood 28-14. First of all, I want to congratulate Somerset for moving on. I fall into the trap of arrogance by judging teams by their zip codes. I felt that a District 5 team AAA team would fall to a established team like Selingsgrove. I underestimated Somerset. BECCA is very athletic and has loads of speed. QB Julian Spigner ( a jr.) is a dual threat , he can hurt you with his feet and arm. He was exceptional with his zone read decisions and showed poise in the pocket. Mike McDaniel the tailback, is a home run threat. Great speed and elusiveness and can catch the football. Two long wide receivers Elijah Finneran and Freddie Simmons, are both 6 ft 4 inches tall. Simmons is a Rutgers commit and has returned five kicks for scores this season. Simmons is one of the states top 100 meters guys. BECCA is physical on defense and swarm to the ball. Backers were very good behind big D-line. Saw numerous stunts and was impressed by physicality. Finneran and Simmons are corners and safeties are ball hawks. Kicker was hitting long and high on kickoffs. Punt game not special, I thought snaps were slow and prone to punt blocking opportunity. Offense uses up tempo schematic at times. As a team they hurt themselves with penalties. Lots of churping and trash talking. I watched their wideout talk trash with guy on the sidelines , as he lined up for a play. O-line averages 255 pounds across and were very good tonight. BECCA is a handful.

Re: Bethlehem Catholic
Thanks for some insight! Dont really know anything about the teams out that way. Hopefully somerset can play like tonight and make a game of it. Tonight just seemed like a different team. They smacked Selinsgrove in the mouth and never looked back. They won with their air attack which is what really surprised me. Great game to watch. The line for BECCA you described worries me though. Somerset doesn't have that kinda beef up front.

Score was 42-28 and I posted 28-14. Sorry, my bad. Mind was fuzzy after hour drive home from Lehigh Valley.
