How about some results from tonight's action
Re: How about some results from tonight's action
FH Jr. High opened for the Varsity, with a 66-24 win over Westmont. Westmont had a LOT of forfeits. The Varsity match was Westy, 37-32. Very even, and maybe the difference in the match was 2 forfeits by FH. 1 at 126, and the absence of Nevins in the upper middle weights forcing FH to bump just about everyone up to cover. I was told 6 of Westy's lineup are BMCHS co-op/transfers. Though 1, is recovering from football injuries, probably the best one, Josiah Jones.
It ain't over until it's over.

Sneakers, I do believe you are incorrect. After speaking with the coach from SH, they didn't have a 20 lber. hence the forfeit at 13 and 32. They moved 13lber to 20 (not running really) to ensure a win at 126. I think their coach was just trying to win the match at that point. Apparently, there were a few close matches that could have gone either way?

my bad...sorry...
just a response last night when I was hoping there did not have to be 3 forfeits out of 4 in that one stretch of weight classes. NB would have taken one away by moving up to 126 but couldn't when 113 came up.

Dragonfanz your are correct about Southern - NB. The match hinged on a couple key moments. Parks lost a close one at 195 in SV. That match goes his way that's a 6 point swing. Walker and Guyer at 106 was a crazy entertaining match where both wrestlers spent time on their backs - both sides thought there were missed pins before a quick one at buzzer. If walker could have got a pin thats a 12 point swing and may have meant the match.

Josiah Jones is a very good wrestler, wait until next year when he plays qb next year for McCort. From what i hear, he wouldn't be ready to wrestle until the end of January at 195 or 220.

Well, Sneakers, I'm sure the coaches don't really care how you feel about forfeits. They are trying to win dual meets.

Josiah is a VERY good wrestler, and very accomplished throughout his JO career--and a great kid too. Moves exceptionally well for an upper-weight wrestler. Been watching him for years on our various dual teams, and always came away impressed.wilson12 wrote:Josiah Jones is a very good wrestler, wait until next year when he plays qb next year for McCort.
